Retired USL Defender JJ Greer shares his soccer story, including his new role as a broadcaster.

Due to the influence of a family who all enjoyed the game to some degree, Greer began his soccer life at an early age.  Following successful seasons at the club and high school level, he progressed to the collegiate level.

Like his father Jarvis, JJ attended The University of Memphis.  He tells Tim Van Horn and Brodee Scott about the transition from high school champion to becoming the new guy on campus.  Greer was part of a potent Tigers attack in his Freshman season.

After his first campaign, his role with the team evolved.  Because of his willingness to put the team first, Greer proved himself to be talented and versatile.

Despite injuries and a position change, Greer earned recognition as well as looks from the professional level.

As a pro, JJ Greer gained a reputation as a reliable player with a strong work ethic.  Besides time in the Portland Timbers organization, he  also plied his trade with multiple clubs, including Charlotte Eagles, Colorado Springs Switchbacks, and Phoenix Rising.  JJ tells Tim and Brodee about a few of the legends who he teamed with during his career.

When USL Championship side Memphis 901 FC began in 2019, his experience came in handy in a different way.  Greer joined the club as a television Color Analyst, using his playing experience to provide insight to viewers.

Soccer player.  Soccer analyst.  JJ Greer has another important job title: Soccer dad!  Always a family guy, he shares his thoughts on transition from momentum changer to diaper changer.
