Most candidates run their campaigns primarily for members of their voting base. Joe O'Dea seems to be running *from* his conservative base - or even against it - in his race for U.S. Senate against incumbent Democrat Michael Bennet. Dan and Ryan ponder why he is doing this, and whether the strategy may prove costly in the long run.

Steve Monahan cleared a GOP primary field without any challengers, and now focuses in on Democratic incumbent Rep. Jason Crow in Colorado's 6th Congressional District. Redistricting after the 2020 census presents an even more daunting challenge for Republicans in the 6th, as the party registration advantage (per FiveThirtyEight.com) has gone from D+12 to D+16.

Can the naval aviator veteran repeat the path to victory followed five times by current Aurora mayor (and former Congressman in this district) Mike Coffman? Or is the district encompassing the southeast suburbs of Denver irretrievably blue, even in what should be a wave election year for Republicans?
