The comfort of comfirmation bias in our respective echo chambers has lulled us into a false sense of security and confidence in our points of view, without having them challenged by those who might disagree. What if America truly embraced debate again? A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine just a few months ago stated the effectiveness of wearing ear-looped cloth masks outside of a medical setting was far from a sure thing. Despite this, Colorado governor Jared Polis posted on his Facebook campaign page that those who don't want to wear masks for the benefit of others are 'selfish bastards.' Where was this level of passion from the governor when the state capitol building in Denver was desecrated and vandalized?
