The news of the day: I’m hearing lots of comments about being stuffy both from colds and allergies right now. I understand your frustration. I am having a bit of a problem myself. I guess allergy season may be upon us. My post today is how to regain that breath. Breathing through your mouth gets old and feels unnatural to me even though it was my state of being for many years when I lived in Arizona. There were times when I could only breathe through my mouth so feeling compromised with my breath is not a new experience for me. What I’m sharing is not a perfect science, but it is what has worked for me for years. The key to finding that breath is taking the time to relax and very slowly breathing through your congestion. I know that sounds counter intuitive, but it works. So right now, take a few moments to slowly and gently breath in and out of your nose. At first it might feel impossible. Continue the process getting only slightly deeper with each repetition. Soon you will feel more and more freedom in that process. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you. Worst case scenario . . . it’s going to give you the opportunity to kick back and restore for a few moments throughout the day.
