Huge thank you to Patricia for commissioning the next episode of this Diana Wynne Jones book, because I'm really needing some comfort lately and this writing is just the ticket.
This section, we get a very interesting set of facts and new experiments to puzzle over. First of all, there's the fact that Christopher isn't actually hurt when he comes out of the other world, but he does get "killed" in almost an identical way just a few hours later. Only he doesn't actually die, and while I attributed that to the Last Governess, now I realize she might not have had much to do with it in the end.
Secondly, there's the changes with Christopher going to school and getting metal installed in his mouth. This is interfering with his performance, and I'm dying to see him in his magic class without that in his mouth because I'm sure it's going to be startling.
