Listen, I already know what you're going to say. This episode of Doctor Who is called 'Rise Of The Cybermen' not 'Cyberman'! And I'm here to tell you that Amazon Instant does NOT have your backs because they labeled it 'Cyberman' and that's what I'm calling it, no matter what the whole rest of the internet says. However I would 100% support you if you decided to write Amazon a strongly-worded letter about accuracy and Christmas Specials.
In this episode, Barty Crouch Sr. is here to destroy humanity in favor of emotionless robots powered by human brains, and yet it's unclear why he wants to do this. He talks about his own fear of death, but he doesn't announce his own intention to "upgrade" and he somehow came up with this idea on his own despite these Cybermen bring in other episodes? I'm not really sure how this worked.
However I'm always a fan of alternate realities in which there are versions of characters we know and love, so I actually enjoyed the episode despite its nonsensical plot because I'm always here for more Jackie and Pete being alive was also an unexpected pleasure. Pretty much just give me more than that and take the Cybermen out entirely, and we'd be good.
Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with the next episode of Twilight!
