THE BREAD AND THE WINE

Matthew 26:26-28 (NET)
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after
giving thanks he broke it, gave it to his disciples, and said,
"Take, eat, this is my body." And after taking the cup and
giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it,
all of you, for this is my blood, the blood of the covenant,
that is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

The bread and the Wine;
The branch and the Vine.
The love of God is pure and divine.
His love is compassionate, giving, and kind.
Like a light it brightly shines!

The body of Christ is the bread.
Everything we are flows from Jesus, our Head.
The bread is made without a pinch of leaven!
The wine is Jesus sent from heaven.

When Christ struggled in Gethsemane,
He knew the cross was part of His destiny.
As He painfully died on Calvary,
He became a drink offering for you and me.

As we drink from the cup of the Lord,
Our hearts unite on one accord.
The wine-the blood-has set us free.
Blessed and broken; chosen are we.

In the Vine, the branch abides.
Christ the bridegroom calls forth His bride.
By His side she gracefully stands,
She looks in His eyes while holding His hand!

The Bride's garment of praise excites the Lord!
He draws nearer; He desires more.
He holds her closely in His righteous arms,
She knows she’s safe from any harm.

I thank You Lord for Your loving care.
Through bitter and sweet, You’re always there!
“Foxes have holes, birds have nests"
I lay my head upon Your breast.

I bought You ashes, a life in despair.
You took the burdens I could no longer bear.
Why are You so in love with me?
I'm speechless before Your majesty!

The fragrance of worship fills the room.
It’s aroma is like a sweet perfume.
The words of His bride touch His heart;
He sweeps her off her feet and departs!

Wedding bells begin to ring;
The angelic host begin to sing.
“The time has come"the Lord declares.
“A feast for you I have prepared!”

“Come My bride and dine with Me."
“My table has spiritual delicacies!”
“You still have yet to see the best".
“The bridal chamber is where we shall rest."

The bride embraces her Lord with a kiss.
Her former life she doesn’t miss.
They shall celebrate their love forever.
Throughout eternity they shall be together.

THE LOVE OF GOD

I love You Lord very much!
I feel Your love; Your powerful touch!
You stepped into my world of pain.
My life has never been the same.

You didn’t condemn me when I was down.
Your compassionate love erased every frown.
You said “I know just how you feel;
The pain I endured was so you could be healed!”

I still don’t quite understand,
why You are so mindful of sinful man.
You left the comfort of heaven’s throne
and lived among men with hearts of stone.

You didn’t grow up in the best neighborhood.
You were falsely accused and misunderstood.
Your family thought You had lost Your mind.
Though You suffered-
You remained patient and kind!

Your love withstands abuse and pain.
Your love destroys all guilt and shame.
Your love is the power we desperately need
to be free from fear, hate, envy, and greed!

When I weigh Your love on life’s scale,
Your love prevails; it never fails!
By Your love I’ve been redeemed.
Your love is more important than earthly things!

THE CAMOUFLAGED SOUL

Lord, as I camouflage myself in Thee-
Hidden from view of the enemy.
Your thoughts and ways control my life.
I’m filled with Your peace instead of strife.

I abide in Your presence, the secret place;
The place of those who seek Your face.
My soul is quiet. My soul’s at rest;
Unmoved by life’s trials and tests.

I can do much good from this position.
I can see the enemy’s every intention.
I can clearly hear My Lord's command.
I’m a useful instrument in His hand.

I’ve killed the “I”- the source of pride.
Therefore, Satan has no place to reside.
He’s constantly devising cunning ways,
To tempt me to sin and go astray.

He wants to flush me from God’s place of rest.
He wants me frustrated and full of stress.
He wants me to curse and not to bless.
He wants to render me powerless!

The storms of life shall come and go.
Adverse winds shall wail and blow.
No matter what the situation,
I’m always secure in God’s habitation.

His servant,
Sandra G. Williams
