Celebrating Gwangbokjeol: A Korean Independence Day Adventure.

Story Transcript:
Ko: 윤호는 신이 났다.
En: Youn-ho was so excited.

Ko: 그는 1년 내내 광복절, 한국이 광복을 쟁취한 날을 기다렸습니다.
En: He had waited all year for this day: Gwangbokjeol, the day Korea won its independence.

Ko: 그는 세계 엑스포 축제에서 친구 정은을 만나기 위해 대전으로 여행하기 위해 방금 기차를 탔습니다.
En: He had just gotten on the train to travel to Daejeon to meet his friend Jung-eun at the World Expo festival.

Ko: 그는 그곳에 도착해서 축하 행사를 시작하기를 기다릴 수 없었습니다.
En: He couldn't wait to get there and start the celebration.

Ko: 윤호는 이번 여행을 2월부터 계획하고 있었다.
En: Youn-ho had been planning this trip since February.

Ko: 정은은 그를 세계 엑스포 축제에서 함께 광복절을 축하하자고 초대했다.
En: Jung-eun had invited him to come and celebrate Gwangbokjeol with her at the World Expo festival.

Ko: 그는 1년 동안 용돈을 모아 마침내 대전행 기차표를 살 수 있었다.
En: He had saved his allowance all year and was finally able to afford the train ticket to Daejeon.

Ko: 기차가 대전에 도착하자 윤호는 서둘러 만국박람회장으로 향했다.
En: When the train arrived in Daejeon, Youn-ho quickly made his way to the World Expo festival.

Ko: 그는 그것을 보았을 때 그의 눈을 믿을 수 없었다.
En: He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw it.

Ko: 축제는 한복을 입은 전국 각지에서 온 사람들로 가득 찼다.
En: The festival was filled with people from all over Korea, dressed in traditional Korean clothing.

En: There were food stalls, games, and performers.

Ko: 윤호는 그 광경에 경외감을 느꼈다.
En: Youn-ho was in awe of the spectacle.

Ko: 인파 속을 헤치고 재빨리 정은을 찾았다.
En: He quickly made his way through the crowd, looking for Jung-eun.

Ko: 마침내 그는 그녀를 발견했습니다.
En: Finally, he spotted her.

Ko: 그녀는 전통 한복을 입고 환한 미소를 짓고 있었다.
En: She was wearing a traditional hanbok and had a huge smile on her face.

Ko: 윤호는 그녀에게 달려왔고 두 사람은 꼭 끌어안았다.
En: Youn-ho ran up to her and the two of them hugged tightly.

Ko: 정은은 그를 보고 너무 반가워하며 축제 현장을 보여주게 되어 신이 났습니다.
En: Jung-eun was so happy to see him and was excited to show him around the festival.

Ko: 그들은 하루 종일 축제를 둘러보고 한국 문화에 대해 배웠습니다.
En: They spent the whole day exploring the festival and learning about Korean culture.

Ko: 윤호는 그런 경험을 한 번도 경험하지 못했고 새로운 세계에 눈을 뜨게 되었다.
En: Youn-ho had never experienced anything like it before and it opened his eyes to a whole new world.

Ko: 정은과의 시간도 즐겼다.
En: He also enjoyed spending time with Jung-eun.

Ko: 그들은 이야기를 나누며 웃었고, 정은이가 가져온 간식도 함께 나눴다.
En: They talked and laughed, and even shared a few snacks that Jung-eun had brought with her.

Ko: 날이 저물어 가면서 윤호와 정은은 불꽃놀이를 보기 위해 멈춰 섰다.
En: As the day drew to a close, Youn-ho and Jung-eun stopped to watch a fireworks display.

Ko: 그들은 불꽃이 밤하늘을 밝히는 것을 경외심으로 지켜보았습니다.
En: They watched in awe as the fireworks lit up the night sky.

Ko: 아름다운 광경이었습니다.
En: It was a beautiful sight.

Ko: 방송이 끝난 뒤 윤호와 정은은 포옹하며 작별 인사를 했다.
En: When the show was over, Youn-ho and Jung-eun hugged and said their goodbyes.

Ko: 윤호는 떠나는 것이 슬펐지만 이제는 부산으로 돌아가야 할 시간이라는 것을 알았다.
En: Youn-ho was sad to leave but he knew it was time for him to go back home to Busan.

Ko: 기차를 타면서 윤호는 성취감을 느꼈다.
En: As he boarded the train, Youn-ho felt a sense of accomplishment.

Ko: 드디어 대전에서 온 친구 정은과 함께 광복절을 지낼 수 있었다.
En: He had finally been able to celebrate Gwangbokjeol with Jung-eun, his friend from Daejeon.

Ko: 그들은 함께 특별한 날을 보냈고 그가 잊지 못할 경험이었습니다.
En: They had shared a special day together and it was an experience he wouldn't forget.

Ko: 이제부터 그는 한국 광복의 중요한 날을 결코 잊지 못할 것입니다.
En: From now on, he would never forget the important day of Korean independence.
