What better way to kick off the Rebel Work Podcast than to start it with Storytelling!

In this episode, Sophie chats with Waleed Wain of Corporate Tales to discuss storytelling in all its forms – at home, personal journeys, and stories within the workplace.

Waleed attempts to dispel the myth that stories do not belong in the workplace and are infantile. He argues how stories can transform the workplace and how they create memorable moments. Waleed is rebelling against the boring (and often dictatorial) narratives in the workplace, and instead wants to engage hearts and minds in the workplace through vulnerability, creativity and engagement.

Sophie also explores the recruitment process and how the outdated model of CV and interviews could be radically changed by the use of stories in recruitment.

In this episode, Waleed and Sophie talk about the success of Will Smith, this podcast was recorded prior to the incident at the Oscars.

Sometimes Sophie & our guests get super passionate about their topic and therefore, some “passionate” language might crop up! You might want to wear headphones or make sure young ears aren’t around, and if this is not your cuppa tea, this might not be the podcast for you.
