Hear our World Famous Tips at the end of this podcast!

In rugby league: Kalyn Ponga copped three head knocks but bounced out of them to steer the Knights to a 28-18 victory over Manly last night.

Newcastle Wings, Greg Marzhew scored the first hat-trick of his NRL career and Dom Young sealed it with a brilliant individual try at the death.

The Sea Eagles were brave without their three best players in Tom and Jake Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans.

Canberra Raiders forward Corey Harawira-Naera has provided an update on his health after Saturday evening’s awful scare at Accor Stadium, where it was later confirmed that he had suffered a seizure.

The Raiders shared a video message from him on Sunday morning, confirming he had been discharged from hospital.

“I’m back with the family now. I firstly want to thank the boys from the Raiders and the Rabbitohs, our medical staff as well as the Rabbitohs medical staff, the paramedics, the doctors, the coaching staff from both teams, as well as all the footy fans, family, friends.

“I’m doing a lot better now. Love to you all for thinking of me. I’m back on the mend, not in the clear yet, but we’ll get some more scans and sort it all out.

“Health comes first, but I’m obviously hoping to get back on the field as soon as possible. Love to all, and I’m very fortunate to have a lot of people concerned about me and thinking about me.”

In SportsBiz: Luton Town’s fairytale journey to the Premier League, after beating Coventry on penalties in the Championship playoff at Wembley is worth squillions!

Financial experts estimate promotion to world football’s most watched league to be worth around US$210Million for a Club that has been through turmoil since they last played in the top flight 31 years ago.

In football: A stunning volley from outside the box by Abdoulaye Doucoure handed Everton a 1-0 win over Bournemouth, ensuring Everton survived relegation from the Premier League on a dramatic final day of the EPL season.

Leicester meanwhile, was relegated despite a gutsy win over West Ham, while Leeds joined them and Southampton in the second division after losing to Tottenham.

In the NBA: It’s crazy, but the Denver Nuggets dropped their bundle scoring after the buzzer so the Eastern Conference Finals series between Boston and Miami will go to Game 7 after the Celtics held off the Heat 103-104 yesterday.

And so the Celtics will travel home to potentially make NBA history as they look to become the first team to come back from a 3-0 series deficit in the playoffs.

In boxing: English boxer Chris Billam-Smith has won the WBO World Cruiserweight title after toppling the previously unbeaten Lawrence Okolie in Bournemouth yesterday morning.

The 32-year-old pulled off a huge upset at Vitality Stadium, clinching a majority decision win after knocking Okolie down three times throughout the 12-round bout.

Okay sports fans on “Background Buzz” today I share our World Famous Tips for how Super Rugby Pacific 2023 will play out:

So the usual suspects will finish at the top – the Chiefs, the Crusaders, the Blues, the Brumbies, Hurricanes and the New South Wales Waratahs in that order from first to sixth.

Looking at the mid-table games this weekend, we tip:
· The Brumbies to bumblebee the Rebels
· The Blues to buckaroo the Highlanders
· The Fijian Drua to rope-a-dope the Reds in Suva
· And the Chiefs to chingchang the Force

So our prediction for the final standings in Super Rugby Pacific 2023 with the Top 8 qualifying for the quarter-finals are:
· The Reds finish 7th on 25 points
· The Fijian Drua 8th also on 25 points
· The Highlanders 9th on 24 points
· Western Force 10th on 23 points
· and the Rebels 11th on 22 points

And that’s a wrap!
