Healing from Childhood Trauma; Breaking the Cycle of Unhealthy Behaviors from Adult Trauma Residue

In this episode of Becoming with Angelina Watkins, she gets into the topic of how to handle and heal from trauma residue. She discusses:
•The difference between residue and a fresh wound
•Identifying the cycle of behavior
•The three things you need to help break the cycle

We all have had some form of trauma in our lives. Some more than others and we have not dealt with the affects of the trauma. When you do not address your wounds, your hurt and pain, your mental and emotional well-being becomes infected and it shows in your behaviors. And many times, people do not recognize these emotionally unhealthy behaviors because they have become their norm.

We have to identify those behaviors that are counterproductive to who God created us to be and are sabotaging the future we want and deserve. Many people cannot identify the behaviors that are sabotaging and unhealthy and are unwilling to listen when others tell them about the behaviors they display. They pass it off as that is just they way I am. And their loved ones pass it off as that is just the way they are.

You cannot break the cycle of behaviors until you are willing to identify and accept the cycle of behavior that needs to be broken. And there is a process to breaking the cycle, but in order to grow through the process you need three things to help you on our journey:
1.Emotional intelligence
2.Different perspective
3.God
