In this episode of Becoming with Angelina Watkins, Dionne Blanks who talks about entrepreneurship, getting out of debt and investing in the stock market to build wealth.
The episode starts with the though prompt taken from the sermon titled Detours by Dr. Dharius Daniels on Easter Sunday. He said something very though provoking about God leaving us intentionally ignorant because if we knew all that our journeys entailed we wouldn’t commit. So we commit not knowing what is required of us and we get too far to go back.
The masterclass features guest Dionne Blanks who started her coaching business with a focus on financial literacy, this includes cash flow planning, savings, debt reduction plans. Dionne also moved into investing in the stock market and teaching and educating people on investing and trading stock options.
To date Dionne is a business coach, real estate investor, coach, the financial literacy educator, this all stems from being in a tight knit family that was full of entrepreneurs, but her motivation came from her grandfather, he could not read or write, never worked a 9 to 5 job but was great with his hands. He was able to make his own way regardless and not having to rely on anyone, this was motivation for Dionne which gave her the self-attitude she possesses today.
Dionne first started out in corporate America but realized it was not for her, so she pursued the avenue of being a financial literacy educator. This did not come easy for her, she faced adversity and financial hardship from her first business, and she was determined to reverse her debt situation and came up with a plan based on what she knew and taught to grow her income again.
Dionne loves to teach people learn how to invest, she takes everybody from the beginning, what is a stock and what is the stock exchange; therefore, you do not need to have any prior financial knowledge in order to learn the stock market, you don't have to have a degree, you just have to have the motivation to want to understand the stock market and how you can benefit from investing in stocks.
