In Daniel 4, King Nebuchadnezzar further testifies to the sovereignty of God over all things, including the affairs of individuals and nations. God predetermined Nebuchadnezzar's destiny (Romans 8:30) in order for you to understand that the Most High God rules over mankind's kingdom, giving it to whom He wills and placing the humblest and lowest of men in charge. (Daniel 4:17) God has control over human events—He gives rulers power and takes rulers' power away. (Daniel 2:21)

He discovers that the favor that leads to promotion and power does not come from anywhere on earth, because no one exalts a person except God, the judge of all things. Nebuchadnezzar discovered the Most High God, Who lives forever, Whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and whose kingdom endures from generation to generation, He does whatever He pleases in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth, and no one can stop Him or say to Him, "What are You doing?" (Daniel 4:34-35) And He has the power to humble those who are walking in pride, but He gives grace to the humble. (Daniel 4:37, Proverbs 3:34)
