In this episode we continue studying the book of Revelation. In chapter 10 we note that John sees an angel of the Lord clothed with a cloud and a rainbow upon his head. The rainbow is a sign of the covenant God made with the earth and all flesh that he would not destroy the earth and all his people and the animals with flood waters.

We also note the reason God destroyed the earth by looking at scriptures from the book of Genesis.

Genesis 6:5  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:6  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
Genesis 6:7  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
Genesis 6:8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Genesis 6:13  And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

In order to eradicate evil from the earth God had to remove the people whose thoughts and imaginations were continually evil.

We see him commanding the children of Israel to kill all of the wicked in the lands they were going to possess. Even women and children. Deuteronomy 20:16-17.

Why would he do that? Perhaps it was because women and children were also worshipping idols.

We see an example of this in the book of Jeremiah. Here’s the text:

Jeremiah 7:18  The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

If women and children were spared, queen of heaven worship would also be spared.

Chapter 10 verse 7 says, once the 7th angel sounds his trumpet the mystery of God will be finished.

We note when God closed the door to the ark those outside did not know what was coming until the door was closed and it started raining. So it will be when the 7th angel sounds his trumpet. The time for repentance will be passed and Revelation 22:11 says, He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Their fate will be sealed because at this point the one who created heaven and earth and the sea and the fullness thereof has determined that time is up, it is finished. The kingdoms of this world shall become the kingdoms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
