#GIVEAWAY!

My guest this week is American author and flutist Julie Scolnik. Julie has enjoyed a long career as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral flutist, performing all over the US and France. This year also marks her 25th year as artistic director of Mistral Music, a chamber music series that she co-founded. Her debut novel “Paris Blue” is a beautiful, poetic memoir about first love. At only 20-years old, Julie studied abroad in Paris and fell head-over-heels in love with a strikingly handsome (married) man. In our interview, Julie talks about what it is about first love that grabs us so tighty, the interconnectedness of Paris and music and writing, and what it was like to relive the moments that have shaped her life.

Julie has also generously offered to give away a copy of her book (which I highly recommend.) Just listen to learn how to enter!

About Us
Since well before Victor Hugo looked up at Notre Dame and thought, "Huh... what if a hunchback lived in there?" authors have been inspired by Paris. The Storytime in Paris podcast will help keep this tradition alive with short interviews and readings from your favorite contemporary authors with a French connection.

Every episode will feature five questions, asked by you, our authors' biggest fans, and answered live on air. Then, our authors will treat us to a reading of an excerpt from their book. Who knows? Maybe you'll even be inspired to write your own Great French Novel. Happy listening!
