Tonight's guest Dr. Bob Forbes has played in a ton of different sports at the young age of 67. It all started with his great love of baseball. Bob and his brother loved it so much they would seldom go on summer vacation because they couldn't stand to miss a game. Then he got into football and at the age of 15, while being the quarterback, his team went 13-0 and won the Maritime championship in Halifax. Acted as player-coach one season because the coach moved on and no one else would coach so Bob played and coached. In the Winters Bob played some hockey but because of a bad asthma problem, his parents didn't want him to play so he ended up skiing. Listen to Bob tell the story about his first set of skis, an excellent story indeed. Bob talks about his start in running and how he was going to run his first marathon in Ottawa and what it was that happens that keeps that from happening right away. He perseveres because now he has run 32 marathons and a dozen or so Boston marathons. Then hear about how Bob acquired the Abbott Six Star Finisher Medal, an incredible achievement. Lastly, we chat about how every year Bob and his daughter go somewhere for a weekend cycling trip, great times. Doctor Bob does much more but you should really listen to the interview and find out what really makes him go.
