Mike Tyson has repeatedly denied accusations of using steroids during his boxing career but has now admitted to cheating his way through drug tests. During a recent podcast, the 54-year-old boxing legend revealed to UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky that he would use the "Whizzinator," which is a prosthetic penis filled with baby urine, to avoid testing positive for drugs, according to MMAmania
"It was awesome, man," during his podcast, "Hotboxin' With Mike Tyson." "I put my baby’s urine in it. And sometimes, one time I was using my wife’s and my wife was like 'Baby, you better not hope that it comes back pregnant or something.' And I said, 'Nah, so we ain’t gonna use you any more, we’re gonna use the kid.'"
It is unclear what drugs Tyson was avoiding testing positive for but he has previously confessed to using other substances including cocaine and marijuana, which he even used moments before fighting against Lou Savarese in June 2000. During the controversial match, Tyson won seconds into the first round via a technical knockout, then punched the referee while refusing to stop fighting despite the match being over.
In an interview with BBC, Savarese said it was unfair that his opponent used drugs that night.
"It is not fair if you are taking drugs before the fight, you want to have a level playing field," he said.
Savarese admitted Tyson was a strong finisher and could have stopped him after the knockout but regretted the way the round ended.
"I didn't think the fight was over, I just thought he got disqualified or whatever," he explained. "I thought the referee had stopped the fight because Tyson had hit him when he got in the middle of us. I didn't know they were stopping the fight because of me getting hurt."
Savarese added that, although it would have been a massive victory for him, there were no grudges.
"It would have been huge if I had won — but no regrets, I had a fun career," he said. "I fought five world champions and am still doing pretty good."
