John has been acknowledged by US Congressmen and Senators as being an expert in "Diversity Small Business Development". He has received a US Congressional Proclamation for being a Top Rated Minority Businessman (petroleum distribution company). John was also voted by the US Small Business Administration as the Entrepreneur of the Year for the State of Tennessee (retail business). He has been invited to testify on several occasions in Washington, DC in special committee hearings regarding the need for better oversight and more transparency in small and minority business government programs. John also specializes in social entrepreneurial engagement and involvement in the underserved communities. He has been a federal whistleblower and activist against waste, fraud, and abuse in Diversity Small Business programs both state and federal for nearly thirty (30) yrs. John played professional football both in the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL).
