Meridian is the seventh largest city in the in Mississippi, with a population of over 40,000 people. Established in 1860, at the junction of the Mobile and Ohio Railroad and Southern Railway of Mississippi, Meridian built an economy based on the railways and goods transported on them, and it became a strategic trading center. But while the city of Meridian has much history, it also holds the graves of some of it most unknown history, the graves of the King and Queen of the Gypsies.
