Welcome to the season of Advent. Today is the first of four Sundays leading up to the time we celebrate Jesus’ first Advent. As we consider when He first arrived via the miraculous virgin birth and when He will come again, what should we do in the meantime?
I think we ought to "Walk in Courageous Humility". Let’s turn to 1Sam 17.31-37 and Acts 14.8-18 for insight. As we walk through Acts 14, we will discover that walking in courageous humility requires that we 1) discover our mission and go where it leads us, 2) carry out the mission, 3) give credit where credit is due, and 4) even when persecuted we remain committed to the mission.
