39:12
Scripture texts are Exodus 18.7-26 and 1Peter 5.1-7 from the subject “Sustained Success through Humility.”

Have you ever encountered a know-it-all? Know-it-alls are self-centered and prideful who oft times push people away without realizing it, thereby setting themselves up for failure. Praise God! Moses was not a know-it-all. As a matter of fact, when God called him, he thought the LORD had called the wrong person. He made excuse after excuse, but God would not excuse him. You see, God did not call Moses because Moses was great. Moses became great because God called him, and Moses answered the call. He had sustained success through humility.

1. Sustained success through humility compels us to give God the glory. (vv7-8)
2. Sustained success through humility moves others to humble themselves before God too. (vv9-12)
3. Sustained success through humility induces us to listen and follow godly counsel/advice. (vv13-18)

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. If we humble ourselves before the LORD, He can and will use us for His glory. He is blessed. We are blessed. And others are blessed by the gifts and grace God showers upon us to make an impact within our spheres of influence. I am my brother’s keeper.

Amen!
