Scripture texts are Isaiah 9.6-7 and Luke 2.8-20 from the thought, “Finding Peace in a Chaotic World.”

Fourth Sunday in Advent represents peace. It can be tough to appreciate peace when we consider the headlines in the news. Many remain silent to keep the peace. Peace is not the absence of conflict. It is the resolution of conflict. At a minimum, it is doing our part as we strive towards resolution. God does His part. He wants us to do our part. How can we find peace in a chaotic world?”

I.We can find peace by actively listening for the voice of God. (vv8-10)
II.We can find peace by actively seeking the Savior Jesus in all that we do (v11-16)
III.We can find peace by actively sharing the good news & living a life of praise (vv17-20)

Hearing the tragedies in the news is enough to cause a mental or emotional breakdown. God is still in control, and He trumps all circumstances. In times like these, we need an anchor. We need a solid rock. The solid rock that’s keeps us on a firm foundation is Jesus! He is the One who keeps us centered in the middle of a storm. He is the One who shelters us in a fiery furnace. He’s the One who lifts us up when we are falling in despair. He is the One who can snatch peace from the clutches of chaos and give it to us.

We invite you to receive Jesus as your LORD and Savior today. Embrace His peace. Amen.
