Mary Murphy

Mary received her Elementary and Early Childhood Education Degree from Widener University. After teaching Special Education Pre- Kindergarten for several years, she decided to take a break to focus on my own family. After doing tons of research, she found that real estate was a flexible and profitable career. She also loved the idea of helping people toward the dream of homeownership.

Mary obtained her real estate license in 2015 and was planning to sell homes part-time until she eventually went back to teaching. It didn’t take long to realize that she had found her true passion. She won rookie of the year in her Keller Williams office for selling 37 homes in her first 11 months for 7 million in volume. She has always valued teamwork, collaboration, education, and coaching. She was on 3 top teams in different roles before branching off to start her own in April 2018. She was immediately attracted to the team model because she knew that in order to be the best you had to be surrounded by the best. She knew that in order to find mentors that would really pour into her, there would need some sort of win-win and financial incentive. Mary also quickly realized that there were a lot of different roles and responsibilities and so much to learn as a new agent. She just wanted to learn how to sell first and figure the rest out later!

Mary needed more than just what the team and the office provided so she hired her first real estate coach in her second year. Since then she has never had a time where she wasn’t in one-on-one coaching with a top coach in the industry. She has traveled around the country to seminars and events to learn the best practices. She has hired coaches in all aspects of her business to help her grow, train, and hire. She still invests a lot of time and money in education and personal development.

After 5 years as a top producer with Keller Williams selling 70+ homes a year, Mary started feeling like she hit another ceiling. She wasn’t sure what to do next and she started noticing people from other parts of the country, moving over to eXp Realty. EXP wasn’t prominent in her area at all. After a year of casually looking at it and failing to build her vision where she was, she decided to take a risk. She needed a higher level of collaboration and the other things (technology, stock, revenue share, ICON award) seemed like attractive added bonuses. The people she chose to surround/align herself with eXp, had already gone through the growing pains that she was experiencing and would be incentivized to help her grow.

Mary came over to eXp in February of 2020 a team of 3. Herself, her husband Brian (Director of Operations), and their executive assistant Jen. She also obtained her broker's license and opened a branch office. In 2021 they have grown their team from 3 people to 12 and their office to 37. The Murphy Group is on track to sell 150 homes for 40 million this year. Their organization will sell around 125 million and it’s growing with great agents every day! The alignment and collaboration at eXp is better than what she expected and real estate has never been more fun!
