We're kicking off 2019 (late) with our first double-feature episode! First up: 1975's Pick-Up looks like another grindhouse flick on the surface, but is almost nothing like what you'd expect it to be. It's visually stunning, genuinely terrifying in some parts, and even thought-provoking in its own weird way. It must be seen to be believed. Whatever one might think of this movie, it's hard to deny that there was a lot more on the filmmakers' minds than simply pumping out a cash-grab exploitation flick. After that, we dive into 1987's Blood Sisters, infamous sleaze queen Roberta Findlay's belated answer to the at-the-time declining '80s slasher craze. Is it a worthy entry into the genre that stands up among the ranks of Halloween and A Nightmare On Elm Street? Is it a so-bad-it's-good cheesefest? Is it neither of those things?
