The VA has created the MS Centers of Excellence (www.va.gov/MS) to ensure Veterans with MS receive the necessary care for their MS. To keep care as close to home as possible, the VA MS Centers of Excellence have developed a national network composed of providers caring for Veterans with MS. Each of the Regional Programs in this network has at least one provider who specializes in the care of Veterans with MS. While the VA has MS specialist who understand the challenges and needs of people with MS, definitive answers on why some people get the disease and others don’t is still being looked into. We understand much about MS, but there is still much we need to learn regarding the who and why.
