Honey Beer

-Honey Beers incorporate honey as a fermentable sugar in addition to malted barley. (Fermentation - Mash In – convert starch to sugar – boil down – transfer to fermenter – add yeast – also add honey)

-Honey character should be evident in aroma and flavor, but should not be overpowering.

-Color: Very light to black depending on underlying style

-Clarity: Clear to hazy is acceptable

-Hop Aroma and Flavor and Bitterness - Very low to very high but Honey should come through

-Body: According to style

-ABV: 2.5%-12.0% - anything more may be considered a Mead (Mead or honey wine is the oldest alcoholic drinks known to man. It is made from honey and water via fermentation with yeast.) The alcoholic content ranges from about 3.5% ABV to more than 20% - usually higher ABV

-Glassware: Pint glass or Belgian Style glass for aroma
