If only you could see the wicked hanging their heads ˹in shame˺ before their Lord, ˹crying:˺ “Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back and we will do good. We truly have sure faith ˹now˺!” (Surah As-Sajdah 32:12)

Every soul shall for certain, taste death. For most people, it brings forth unsettled affairs and an uncovering of incomplete duties. As quoted in Surah As-Sajdah above, doomed are those who at death, awaken to an eternity of unbearable difficulties, for having neglected the purpose of this fleeting life and compensating for it, in the afterlife.

A great heaviness awaits those whose graves, instead of being restful places, are pits of eternal regret and the beginning of atonement for all unfinished business.

Hence, the Holy Prophetﷺ said that curses befalls the one who reaches to Ramadhan, and received nothing from the Mercy and Forgiveness of Allahﷻ.

As a person can only be duly formed once, in the darkness of Mother’s womb, cell by cell, until he is ready for live on Earth, so too will a person, exclusively be able to build and make preparations for the hereafter, while alive on Earth. There is no way one can return to the womb to receive corrections for any deformation and there will also be no course of returning an unprepared soul to rectify mistakes, for the Akhirah.

In the afterlife, every difficulty is insurmountable and every pleasure unfathomable, in comparison to this life.

Therefore, as Mawlanaق has reminded us numerously, take what is remaining of this Ramadhan seriously, and put in the best effort to, at the very least, sincerely yearn for Allah’sﷻ Mercy and Forgiveness. Beg to be shown our mistakes, to rectify and settle all our incomplete affairs and debts before our time comes to move on to the next Alam.

May Allahﷻ grant us to be amongst those to receive Hisﷻ Divine Forgiveness this Ramadhan and to be in Hisﷻ Pleasure, as the fortunate, Prepared Ones passing on to the Akhirah.
