I only do one episode for Ironman Santa Rosa, this episode is with Anastasia McKay. She talks about the training going into the race. She mentions the difficulty in traveling from Kentucky to California. We talk about the road quality of the course along with how the aid stations on this course are not very favorable and some were unmanned. The first transition has a long run up a hill that many would want to be aware of prior registering. The hills through the course were quite fun, but some unforeseen conditions made the bike course interesting. Anastasia mentions the amazing volunteers at the second transition area. She also talks about how she tackles the run of the race.

Quote of the episode: “It was perhaps the scariest things I’ve seen in triathlon.”
