I believe that saying “hello, how are you?” can make someone's day better. The reason I believe this is that if someone is having a horrible day and they need someone to talk about it but they don’t want to start the conversation, the moment you ask “how are you?” they can tell you about their problems and they can start feeling better about themselves. One time when I was in a bad mood, a kid came up to me and asked, “why the long face?” and I was able to talk about my problems and get it out of my system. I also remember a time in 7th grade where a kid started crying in the middle of class and when his friend asked him what was wrong he was able to calm him down and help him with his situation. It’s the thought that counts and that thought will help the people around you. If everyone in the world would just take a second of their time to be nice to another person and ask them “how life treating ya?” then the world would be a better place. This I believe.
