Lance is the founder and CEO of The Teammate Factory. He is a leading authority on the good teammate mindset, who specializes in getting individuals to shift into the We Gear and change their focus from me to we! A college basketball coach turned author, sportsmanship advocate, and professional speaker, he is known for his enthusiastic personality and his passion for transforming teambusters into teammates. He is a rare two-time recipient of the prestigious Schoenfeld Award for Sportsmanship, Character, and Ethics, as presented by the Collegiate Basketball Officials Association. For more than 20 years, he operated youth sports camps. Hundreds of kids attended his wildly popular “Be A Good Teammate” basketball camp every summer, where they were taught daily that good teammates care, share, and listen.
As a former intercollegiate student-athlete, Lance was an academic All-American. He holds an undergraduate degree in theatre and a master’s degree in sports management. Missy West is a former college coach, inductee to the High School Hall of Fame, and now a motivational speaker, whose athletic participation has strongly influenced the development of lifelong skills that remain within her to this day. Sports has built confidence within her as a woman, gave her career opportunities, and an environment filled with amazing, hard-working, and successful people to this day.
Her passion for sports began at a very young age in upstate NY, where football and Ice hockey became her first two loves. Following High School, Missy had a successful college career at Duke University where she was able to participate in 2 ACC Conference Championships, 5 NCAA tournaments and the National Championship in 1999. Following her stint at Duke, Missy played professionally in Germany for three seasons winning a German National Championship. Missy coached basketball at the college level for 12 years both at the Division II and Division III levels & received 3 conference coach of the year honors and was nominated for National Coach of the Year in 2013. She also coached a youth 12-year-old team where they too won a German National Championship. Most recently Missy was inducted into the New York State High School Hall of Fame (with Jim Brown) and the National High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
