9 APR 2024 · Mike Malley is Chairman of the family-owned Malley’s Chocolate, Inc., leading operations and personnel across the specialty retailers’ 19 regional stores and manufacturing facility headquartered in Brook Park, Ohio. As grandson of company founder Albert Martin (Mike) Malley, and in partnership with his five siblings, he serves in the third generation of family chocolatiers since its incorporation in 1935. Malley re-joined the family business in 2012 after a progressive 23-year career in the publishing industry. He was Advertising Director and Sales Manager at Crain’s Cleveland Business before returning to chocolate, and previously held multiple executive editorial, publisher-level and sales management positions with Questex Media and Advanstar Communications, Inc. Throughout his career, Malley was recognized for leading innovations in traditional print and electronic media, and for helping business-to-business publications expand their audiences and advertising sales revenue. At 63, he is also active in several local and civic organizations, including as Director, Board Member for Cleveland Roots, an organization dedicated to urban agriculture while providing affordable access to fresh produce; Board member of Cleveland Spice Acres; and was past Director, Board Member of LifeBanc, a local organ procurement agency and past Director, Board Member for the Cleveland Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland; and is an alumnae of Leadership Cleveland, class of 2018. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Cleveland State University and recent graduate of Leadership Cleveland Class, 2018. Malley lives in Brecksville, Ohio with his wife Angela, with whom he has two adult children.

12 NOV 2023 · David Margolius is the Director of Public Health, City of Cleveland. On August 1, 2022, Dr. Margolius took the oath of office as the city’s first physician Public Health Director in over 40 years. Dave was born in Cleveland and raised in Shaker Heights. For the 7 years prior to joining the City of Cleveland, he worked at MetroHealth System as a Primary Care Physician and held a number of leadership positions including Division Director of Internal Medicine. An active educator, he is an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and faculty for the Medical Director Leadership Institute at Harvard Medical School’s Center for Primary Care. He has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals on a wide range of public health topics from COVID-19 response in underserved communities and the opioid crisis, to hypertension in low-income populations and best practices in primary care, preventative medicine and family medicine. Dr. Margolius holds an MD from Alpert Medical School at Brown University and a BA in biology from Brown. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University of California, San Francisco where he spent his last year as Chief Resident of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety before returning to Cleveland and joining the MetroHealth System. He lives with his wife and two children in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland. 12 NOV 2023 · Maria (Walker) Bennett has been the President and CEO of SPR Therapeutics since she founded the company in 2010. Using her years of experience in the medtech industry, Maria identified an unmet market need for a non-opioid, non-surgical pain treatment to improve the lives of millions of pain sufferers. The idea for this new treatment originated during her biomedical engineering graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University, where she developed a peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) system to treat pain and also led R&D at an early stage neurostim company. During this experience, Maria discovered her passion for working with patients and physicians and witnessing life-changing results. She also learned the challenges of growing and sustaining an entrepreneurial company. From there, Maria was recruited to lead a team at Boston Scientific to conduct a large clinical trial, which demonstrated the safety and efficacy of an innovative angioplasty balloon and achieved FDA approval. While it was a great experience to work for a large medtech company, when a former colleague presented the opportunity to join a new start-up company, she couldn’t resist and returned to Cleveland to serve as VP of Clinical at NDI Medical. At NDI, she played a vital role in the development of a neurostim system addressing urinary incontinence, which was acquired by Medtronic in 2008. After the sale of NDI, Maria revisited her idea of a novel pain relief therapy, validated there was an unmet market need, and founded SPR to commercialize its SPRINT® PNS System. She is the inventor of SPRINT, having multiple patents issued. Maria earned her BS degree in engineering management from Miami University (Ohio) and earned her MS degree in biomedical engineering from Case. Dr. Pettigrew has built a reputation for delivering actionable instructional leadership, and offering robust training to building the capacities of both teachers and leaders. Dr. Pettiegrew earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Urban Education from Cleveland State University and has provided consulting and professional development for principals, school districts and private businesses through his business The LEAD School.
