I graduated in 2013, and shortly after, I started working as an agricultural credit analyst at a bank for about three years. However, life tested my resilience. In 2016, I suffered a severe accident that broke my spine, leaving me incapacitated for eight months. This painful event changed my entire perspective. I realized that my corporate job did not align with my true calling, so I made the difficult decision to resign. Through this crisis, I understood that if a professional faces a major life-changing event, they develop deep adaptability. This required immense flexibility and adaptability in my job context, forcing me to reinvent myself. Driven by self-direction, I redirected my career toward rural social work and joined the National Federation of Coffee Growers in the municipality of La Florida. There, I provided technical assistance to rural communities, training them in laying hen production. The countryside welcomed me with open arms; the people were noble, respectful, and generous. Later, I managed a beautiful food security project backed by the Inter-American Development Bank, teaching families how to establish home gardens to produce chemical-free food. By 2019, I started working with victims of the armed conflict. Even though the areas were dangerous, the community protected and cared for me constantly. My leadership style evolved through empathy. If I continue working with these vulnerable communities, I will always promote sustainable technical processes to guarantee their economic growth. My last job with a state entity for land restitution showed me the harsh reality of war—the sadness, the lost innocence, but above all, the incredible tenacity and resilience of our rural heroes. This context proved that true leadership is about serving others. Regarding our national context, if the government improved public roads and eliminated unfair intermediaries, our farmers would finally receive the fair income they deserve.Today, Zootechny is vital because we must lead eco-friendly, sustainable technical processes.
