Roxann shares Capac's history of growing and harvesting (by hand) cranberries in the late 1800s. The crop had a very short history, dying off in 1881 as a result of the Great Thumb Fire.

The Historical Society will host some events including a craft and bake sale from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 7, as part of Capac Cranberry Christmas. Kids can also make pine cone birdfeeders. Depot tours will be available for free on the day, she said. Other events will take place throughout downtown Capac on Dec. 7. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by a gathering at Melody Park for the Tree Lighting.

Members of Capac Classmates Promoting Future Adults are expected to participate in the parade.
