Here are a few ways I’ve gotten in my own way: - Hustling for worthiness - Letting other people define my value and worth - Ignoring my body by not taking care of myself - Lying to myself and others, aka people-pleasing - Thinking I wasn’t good enough. Here are a few things I’ve practiced to get out of my own way: - Asking myself “What brings me joy?” and honoring the answers - Being okay with me - nothing is wrong with me and my life - Connecting with my body, listening to it, honoring it - Telling the truth to myself, then to others if I want to - Loving myself no matter what - Practice, practice, practice. At the end of each episode, I present new questions for you to engage with. Answering the questions helps you gain insight and clarity for yourself. You’ll hear new perspectives on self-care and how you can feel empowered by caring for yourself. Through small acts of kindness to yourself, you can strengthen your relationship with yourself. I talk about self-care and self-care practices in a deep and meaningful way, and offer transformative, expanded possibilities for how you can view yourself and your life, for how you can show up for yourself and your life. If you don’t yet, you’ll start to believe that you are worthy, valuable, and good enough. You’ll be able to see how you’ve gotten in your own way, how to get out of your own way, and how to create what you want. You’ll start making more aligned decisions, which will affect your whole life. It’s about even more self-love and self-acceptance and how we get there.

https://thehealingmodalities.com/

Get Out of Your Own Way with April Yee: And get what you want through transformative self-care

<itunes:author>April Yee</itunes:author><itunes:owner><itunes:name>April Yee</itunes:name><itunes:email>thehealingmodalities@gmail.com</itunes:email></itunes:owner><itunes:image href="https://d3wo5wojvuv7l.cloudfront.net/t_rss_itunes_square_1400/images.spreaker.com/original/36eaf0bb960c915635aa9328aa7cdd0c.jpg"/><itunes:subtitle>What does getting in your own way look like? What if the parts of you that seem to hold you back are actually trying to protect you? Sometimes our lives look “perfect” from the outside–we have a level of success in our career, we have the home, car, clothes, luxurious vacations, and we can buy what we want. But at what cost to us on the inside? In this episode, Ming Chen (Executive Leadership and Career Pivot Coach), shares how she got out of her own way by learning how to break free from the limiting beliefs of perfectionism. We explore how perfectionism showed up for her in her leadership roles, how her experience as an immigrant fueled a relentless pursuit of excellence, and the hidden costs of striving for perfection: burnout, resentment, and ultimately, living a life that felt smaller than it should.
We discuss what overcoming perfectionism looks like and the freedom it creates—freedom to take risks, embrace mistakes, and live with self-compassion, authenticity, and purpose. If perfectionism has ever left you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re chasing a never-ending goalpost, this episode is for you.

Watch April and Ming livestream here

Connect with Ming Chen:
https://www.nebulacoach.com/
https://www.linkedin.com/in/moonces/

<itunes:author>April Yee</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Have you ever felt like perfectionism is both your superpower and your biggest obstacle?

</itunes:summary><itunes:duration>1857</itunes:duration><itunes:keywords>authenticity,career,excellence,immigrant,leadership,life coach,limiting beliefs,perfection,perfectionism,perfectionist,pivot,purpose,self-care,self-compassion,technology,women</itunes:keywords><itunes:explicit>false</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://d3wo5wojvuv7l.cloudfront.net/t_rss_itunes_square_1400/images.spreaker.com/original/36eaf0bb960c915635aa9328aa7cdd0c.jpg"/><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType>

"Valuing Ourselves through Connection" with Dalglish Chew

We all want deeper, more authentic connections - but how do we create them? It’s because it feels “safer” to think “I don’t know what to do” or “I don’t know what the right decision is” instead of making a decision and then going through whatever that action requires. We do this because deciding can be scary: Deciding means we will have to take action. Deciding means stepping into the unknown. Deciding means we could potentially fail. Deciding means possibly having a difficult conversation. Deciding means we may have to take on more responsibility. Deciding means we may be successful beyond our wildest dreams. Listen in to see why staying in “I don’t know” sucks away your energy. Things will be different, not necessarily better. Life will still be 50/50 - yes, certain things may be “better” and other problems may arise that haven’t been there before achieving the goal. When we familiarize ourselves with this concept, we can find out that being right here, right now is just as important as getting “over there” is.
