How overwhelming! No wonder it is easier to say, nope... I'll be over here....
But, over there is not where change happens; collaboration occurs, and innovation develops. Over there is not where a pioneer thrives...

I share my story of overcoming obstacles, navigating resistance, and making a meaningful impact in building community through a FB group and real life.

It is essential to understand that it will sometimes come with friction or discontent when you do anything different. Still, if we remain in the place of discomfort long enough, we naturally will either seek a way to run from it or seek a way to overcome it so it doesn't rechallenge us. That is how we grow and make an impact even better!

As a professional fundraiser and nonprofit executive, Cassie has exceeded annual revenue goals of more than $30 million. Her experience includes work at United Way, MGale & Associates, and the East Texas Crisis Center. She is a University of Texas at Tyler graduate and recipient of the prestigious Fort Worth 40-Under-40 Award, Leading Women award recipient, and has led Christ’s Haven to be awarded Best Place for Working Parents for three consecutive years.

Cassie balances the professional demands of leading an organization while also the demands of marriage and motherhood. Her volunteer work & hobbies include serving as a board member for the Greater Keller Chamber of Commerce and Teen Life and shuttling daughters to dance practices and cheer competitions. Raylene serves as the Community Based Care Manager for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), an organization whose mission is to care for the families of America’s fallen heroes. She started with TAPS as a survivor, after her brother, A1C Bryan Sanders was lost to suicide after a long, hard-fought battle with service-related Leukemia and Lymphoma. Her work honors her brother and is a testament to her passion for the TAPS mission and her wish to offer a place of hope and healing for grieving military families.

As a veteran herself, Raylene served as an Aircrew Flight Equipment Technician in the Air Force and worked full-time for the Department of Defense for 10 years before earning a bachelor's degree in Disaster and Emergency Management from American Military University and a master's degree in Crisis Response and Trauma Counseling from Liberty University, where she is currently working towards her Doctorate in Traumatology with a hyper-focus on resistance and resiliency.

Raylene is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
