Her work has been published in numerous literary journals, magazines, and anthologies and she has worked on projects as a writer, editor, and performance director for The New York Knicks, Urban Word NYC, HBO, and Nickelodeon Television. Her poetry has been featured in multi-media formats for short films and television commercial programming.  
She has been awarded a writer’s residency at the Omega Institute and has been a featured and/or visiting poet and performer for numerous art festivals and outreach programs including drug rehabilitation centers, prisons and hospitals.
She teaches Performance Poetry and Fiction at Pace University, as well as Essay Writing at College of Staten Island for the City University of New York (CUNY).

Mason Granger (he/him) is a spoken word artist with over a decade of experience on stages & in educational settings across all 50 states and nine countries. His work centers around matters of class, nature, and sustainability-- both of ourselves as human beings and the world we share-- all from an imaginative and forward-thinking perspective.

As the inaugural Poet in Residence of the Schwarzenegger Institute at USC and an LA-Paris 2024 Poetic Games Olympic Showcase Awardee, Mason is one of Southern California's most engaging poetic voices. Whether inhabiting a stage himself or making space for others' voices to shine, Mason's approach to the craft of spoken word poetry emphasizes engagement, connection, and creativity. His philosophy is simple: Teachers make sure you walk out knowing what you need to know; poets make sure you walk out feeling what you need to feel. Mason's work, intentionally, makes sure you walk out with both cups full.

As a poet, Mason has been featured on ESPN (2011) , PBS (2018), the Golden Globes (2021), multiple national magazines, and founded a spoken word YouTube channel (2014), SlamFind, with 100,000 subscribers. As an educator and nonprofit director at Get Lit - Words Ignite in LA (2024) and Bowery Poetry Club in NYC (2019), his students have performed for The Last Poets (2018), Prince Harry & Meaghan Markle (2021), been named National Youth Poet Laureate (2023), and achieved countless other accolades. He created poetry exchange programs in Romania (2019) and The Netherlands (2024), performed at the Austrian World Summit (2024), and did a backflip once (2003).

At the end of the day, however, it's not about an individual's past accomplishments, but how we can all build a better future based on the moments we create together in the present. Spoken word poetry, at its very best, is a living art form, and filling a room with that Life--no matter where, when, or with who-- is what inspires Mason every time he steps on stage.

Shataysha Byrd was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Shataysha originally started poetry in fifth grade but did not get the courage to perform in front of an audience until 20 years old. After the first performance, she knew the stage was her home from that moment on. Then the pandemic took a different turn in the world that stopped many different artists from performing and or producing. This did not stop Shay.thepoet, it instead has opened up a new world for her. Since the pandemic, she has performed in Atlanta, Los Angles, Florida, Ohio, and many other states. Shay is the first Poetry Me Please grand slam champion and has many goals and aspirations for the future.

Shataysha Byrd was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Shataysha originally started poetry in fifth grade but did not get the courage to perform in front of an audience until 20 years old. After the first performance, she knew the stage was her home from that moment on. Then the pandemic took a different turn in the world that stopped many different artists from performing and or producing. This did not stop Shay.thepoet, it instead has opened up a new world for her. Since the pandemic, she has performed in Atlanta, Los Angles, Florida, Ohio, and many other states. Shay is the first Poetry Me Please grand slam champion and has many goals and aspirations for the future.

Regie Cabico is a spoken word pioneer having won The Nuyorican Poets Cafe Grand Slam. Mr. Cabico was a featured poet at the 2022 Whitney Biennial and received the 2006 Writers for Writers Award from Poets & Writers. Television credits include HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, TEDx & NPR’s Snap Judgement.  He is a teaching artist at the Kennedy Center for the Arts and is one of the inaugural recipients of the 2023 James Baldwin Fellowship from La Maison Baldwin, Paris France. His work appears in over 30 anthologies including Aloud: Voices from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. He has shared the stage with Patti Smith, and Allen Ginsberg, and through Howard Zinn's Portraits Project at NYU, has performed with Stanley Tucci, Jesse Eisenberg & Lupe Fiasco.  Cabico is a recipient of a 2008 Future Aesthetics Arts Award from The Ford Foundation, three New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships for Poetry and Performance, the Larry Neal Award for Poetry, and several DC Commission for the Arts Poetry Fellowships. He has served as faculty at Banff's Spoken Word Program and Kundiman. He received three New York Innovative Theater Award Nominations for his work in Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind.  The Kenyon Review named Regie Cabico the "Lady Gaga of Poetry" and was listed in BUST magazine's 100 Men We Love. He has served several artist in residencies for New York University's Asian American Studies, and is a founding Board member for Split This Rock Poetry Festival. His latest book of poetry is A Rabbit In Search of a Rolex (Day Eight, 2023).

Thomas is cofounder of Poetry in the Park, WORDPLAY, Creating Space, Poetry in Motion and Creativity Meets Geek. Thomas has released 2 full lengths: It Starts From the Belly and Blooms and Inheriting Craziness is a Soft Halo of Light by Three Rooms Press. He also has 4 chapbooks: Mistakes Disguised as Stars (Tired Hearts Press), Depression Cupcakes (Yes, Poetry), There is Always Tomorrow (Mad Gleam Press) and The Only Gardening I Do is When I Give Up by Finishing Line Press. Ralonda’s first full-length publication, Whispers & Conversations, was published in June of 2024 by World Stage Press.

He is a Cave Canem Fellow, a 2022 Langston Hughes Fellow at the Palm Beach Poetry Festival, and an alum of the Tin House Winter Workshop. His work has received the Leslie McGrath Poetry Prize in 2023, the Pacific Spirit Poetry Prize in 2021, and was a finalist for the 2022 Mississippi Review Poetry Prize. His poems appear or are forthcoming in Narrative, Colorado Review, Raleigh Review, Acentos Review, and Santa Fe Writers Project Quarterly among others. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of California – Riverside and currently resides in the Bronx.

Sagirah “Siggy” Layne is an Accountant and poet/spoken word artist of Grenadian descent, from Brooklyn, NY. She started her accounting career as an auditor at Ernst & Young over 10 years ago in NY before moving to CA and switching to tax. She began performing spoken word over 6 years ago after moving to CA, although she’s been writing since she was a young girl. She’s now a bi-coastal girlie living, writing, and performing in both NY and CA. She’s performed for various organizations, twice at the Pan-African Film Festival Spoken Word Fest, and planned, produced, and performed her first two solo shows in 2022 & 2023. In April 2020, she released her debut poetry book “The Rise of the Dope Black Woman” under her pen name “Trust” and is currently working on book #2, set to be released in 2025.

When not working and writing, Siggy enjoys spending time with her loved ones, working out, listening to music, playing her piano, and knitting and crocheting. She is a life member and President of the Athens-Westmont Section of The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. She also enjoys traveling, especially back home to her family land, the beautiful Isle of Spice, Grenada.

Dominic “Nerd” McDonald also known as Nerd the Poet, is a young Black Entrepreneur and Spoken Word artist from various cities in Los Angeles, California who relocated to the DC Metro area in 2019. He has put his views on growing up in the inner city between two households, his Hip Hop music obsession, college experiences, and more into Poetry and Spoken Word. 
His first poetry book "The Love Song of D. Nerd McDonald" was written in 2015 and by 2016 he began touring and traveling as a Professional Published Poet. By his second tour in 2018 had published his second work "H.E.R (Heavens Epitome Realized)" along with two college friends and set his eyes on expanding his brand to the East Coast.  His passion comes from serving the community, especially through the arts. He is the 2022 winner of the Day 8 Publishing's "DC Poet Project". 

By writing from his heart and what he sees and hears, he hopes to be a “change agent” to the unheard.

Marlana-Patrice is a veteran English and reading teacher who has taught on many levels, including teaching Freshman Composition at Purdue University. Both a lifelong teacher and lifelong learner, she is currently a Teaching Assistant with Community Literature Initiative (CLI).
A native Clevelander, Marlana-Patrice caught the open mic bug before taking an early retirement and relocating to the Phoenix Metro area in Arizona. She performs as "Marlana-Patrice." To date, one of her most memorable poetry performances was at the iconic Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center during a Los Angeles Poet Society 2022 Open Mic.

Moyosolaoluwa Olowokure is a Nigerian poet, model, digital creator, and recording artiste whose work explores psychology, spirituality, and romance.

Her works have graced African Creatives’ platforms such as, the Aké Festival, LIPFEST, KABAFEST, BellaNaija, and Drummr Africa. She is also known for her commissioned work with NGOs and brands across Nigeria. 

Off the stage, Moyosola’s online community has grown to over 30,000 people across the globe as she collaborates with artists of various disciplines and backgrounds. Her debut single, “Sex is a kind of death (SIAKOD)” was released in February 2024 and currently has over 8,000 plays on major streaming platforms.

She has been honored as a Presidential Leadership Scholar and Regenerative Artivist with the Buckminster Fuller Institute and habRitual's Design Science Studio for leading planet conscious artists. Neha is a Public Voices Fellow on the Climate Crisis - an initiative of the OpEd Project and the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication to change who writes history. She serves as the inaugural global ambassador of non-profit Remote Energy that is making the solar energy field more accessible for communities of color, especially women. Neha shares, curates, teaches poetry across conventional and unconventional collaborators that include local libraries, public parks, urban farms, museums, youth theatre camps, global climate leaders, veterans’ circles, social justice leaders and senior citizens.

Writer/Naturalist Elizabeth Bradfield’s recent books are Toward Antarctica, Once Removed, and the anthologies Cascadia Field Guide: Art, Ecology, Poetry, co-created with CMarie Fuhrman and Derek Sheffield and winner of the 2024 Pacific Northwest Book Award, and Broadsided Press: Fifteen Years of Poetic/Artistic Collaboration, co-created with Alexandra Teague and Miller Oberman. Her poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, Poetry, The Sun, and her honors include the Audre Lorde Prize in Lesbian Poetry and a Stegner Fellowship. Liz works as a naturalist and field assistant at home on Cape Cod, teaches creative writing at Brandeis University, and is Editor-in-Chief of Broadsided.

Matt Sedillo has been described as the "best political poet in America" as well as "the poet laureate of the struggle". His work has drawn comparisons in print to Bertolt Brecht, Roque Dalton, Amiri Baraka, Alan Ginsberg, Carl Sandburg and various other legends of the past. Sedillo was the recipient of the 2017 Joe Hill Labor Poetry award, a panelist at the 2020 Texas book festival, a participant in the 2012 San Francisco International Poetry Festival, the 2022 Elba Poetry Festival, and the recipient of the 2022 Dante's Laurel. Sedillo has appeared on CSPAN and has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Axios, the Associated Press, La Jornada among other publications. Sedillo has spoken at Casa de las Americas in Havana, Cuba, at numerous conferences and forums such as the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, the National Conference on Race & Ethnicity in American Higher Education, the National Association of Chicana/Chicano Studies, the Left Forum, the US Social Forum, and at over a hundred universities and colleges, including the University of Cambridge, Stanford, UNAM and many others. Matt Sedillo is the author of Mowing Leaves of Grass (FlowerSong Press, 2019) and City on the Second Floor (FlowerSong Press, 2022). Both of which are taught at universities throughout the country.

Matt Sedillo has been described as the "best political poet in America" as well as "the poet laureate of the struggle". His work has drawn comparisons in print to Bertolt Brecht, Roque Dalton, Amiri Baraka, Alan Ginsberg, Carl Sandburg and various other legends of the past. Sedillo was the recipient of the 2017 Joe Hill Labor Poetry award, a panelist at the 2020 Texas book festival, a participant in the 2012 San Francisco International Poetry Festival, the 2022 Elba Poetry Festival, and the recipient of the 2022 Dante's Laurel. Sedillo has appeared on CSPAN and has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Axios, the Associated Press, La Jornada among other publications. Sedillo has spoken at Casa de las Americas in Havana, Cuba, at numerous conferences and forums such as the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, the National Conference on Race & Ethnicity in American Higher Education, the National Association of Chicana/Chicano Studies, the Left Forum, the US Social Forum, and at over a hundred universities and colleges, including the University of Cambridge, Stanford, UNAM and many others. Matt Sedillo is the author of Mowing Leaves of Grass (FlowerSong Press, 2019) and City on the Second Floor (FlowerSong Press, 2022). Both of which are taught at universities throughout the country.
Sedillo is the current literary director of The Mexican Cultural Institute of Los Angeles.

As a single woman she made the choice to have books instead of children. A citizen of both the United States and Mexico, Cisneros currently lives in San Miguel de Allende and makes her living by her pen.

She has been one of America's leading spoken word poets for over 20 years and has received the Puerto Rican Women Legacy Award, The Edgar Allan Poe Award from The Bronx Historical Society and was honored as A Bronx Living Legend by The Bronx Music Heritage Center. She was presented with a Citation of Merit from The Bronx Borough President and named “Top 20 Puerto Rican Women Everyone Should Know”. NY Times called her a “Juggernaut" after the first off-Broadway run of her original musical BOOGIE RICAN BLVD., where she played 7 different characters. We welcome to the podcast, Marcellus Nealy, co-editor of Umoja: ToPoJo Excursions - Black diaspora Edition. The FIRST poetry collection written by all black poets and writers to ever be produced in Japan! Marcellus found his poetic voice in the mid-1990s on a small stage in Tokyo, at the popular British Pub, What the Dickens. From there, he dove full-on into the world of spoken word. He is the winner of several international poetry slams. He has been invited to perform globally at well known events like the Montreal Jazz Festival, Heineken Greenroom Festival in Singapore, and the globally televised charity event Live 8, which over 1 billion people viewed. He also toured with Japan’s most legendary pop band, DREAMS COME TRUE, spending an eight-year residency with the band as a lyricist, rapper, spoken word performer, and background vocalist.
