Moreover, the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge became historic because it is the first bridge in North America that was constructed with concrete arched trusses. It is maintained by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County. The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge starts almost in front of the Schermerhorn Symphony. It offers spectacular views of downtown and is not very crowded. This bridge makes it easier for visitors to reach the stadium from downtown hotels. You can park your car on the east side of the bridge where it is easier to find parking space. You can take either the elevator up the bridge or make the climb to the top. There are elevators at both ends of the bridge. The East elevator will give the visitors’ access to the Cumberland whereas the West elevator gives access to the Riverfront Park. When you ride your bike over the bridge, you can take a stop at the apex and enjoy the stunning Nashville skyline. You will also love strolling the bridge at night. It offers a great vantage point of lights, water and paddleboats. It would be a steep climb but don’t worry, there are benches on which you can rest and enjoy the views of Broadway. The developers of the Nashville Riverfront envisions modifications for the park. Improvements on fountains, spray grounds, boardwalks, overlooks, piers, performance venues, wetlands, squares and new docking facilities are included in the plan. Moreover, there would be increased bike paths, and open play space. The restructuring and expansion of the Riverfront is highly anticipated by both locals and tourists. In the 1980's, the Gaylord Entertainment worked to redecorate the Ryman's exterior. The construction of the building was also enhanced. The company have installed a new roof, changed broken windows, fixed broken bricks and wood. Still, even after renovations, it remained basically unchanged. The auditorium is a historic music landmark that should not to be missed. When you step into the auditorium, you will feel like you're being jolted back to the 1950's or 60's. The cornerstone for the State Capitol was laid in 1845, and finished its construction a little over ten years later. The Greek Revival style of Strickland for building this capitol, also resembles his vision for Tennessee’s virtues. But five years before the building was completed, Strickland died. The tomb of Strickland was placed on the northeast wall of the capitol. His son, F.W Strickland, took charge of his father’s work and supervised the construction of the building until it was completely finished.Adjacent to the Tennessee State Capitol, is the War Memorial Auditorium. It is a hall for the performance with 2,000 seats and governed by the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. The Auditorium was designed by the architect Edward Dougherty. The Auditorium has a Doric columns tablets, where the names of the 3,400 Tennessean soldiers who died in World War I are inscribed. And before the entrance of the War Memorial Auditorium, you will find this carving:“AMERICA IS PRIVILEGED TO SPEND HER BLOOD AND HER MIGHT FOR THE PRINCIPLES THAT GAVE HER BIRTH AND HAPPINESS AND THE PEACE WHICH SHE HAS TREASURED." - WOODROW WISONThe carved statement was the message delivered by President Woodrow Wilson, on April 22, 1917, during the declaration of war between the United States and imperial Germany. This is the Musicians Hall of Fame Nashville Municipal Auditorium, also known as Nashville Municipal Auditorium. As a single building, it is a common venue for indoor sports events, awards nights, concerts, corporate events, and parties. MHOFM is designed especially to honor all musicians from any genre, group, or instrument. Its service began in 2006, when they began recording music there. Musicians were nominated and called by the American Federation of Musicians as well as the veterans of the music industry. Back in the first few events of MHOFM, musicians would play instruments and sing popular songs performed by popular artists. Most of the musicians who would open the events are the people behind the top songs in the country from different genres—especially songs from the 50s to the 80s. And in 2008, MHOFM was nominated as the venue of the year by the Meeting Professionals International. In 2010, just to accommodate Music City Center, MHOFM was purchased by the government of Nashville. And three years later, it was recommenced as Nashville Municipal Auditorium. The newly built MHOFM is now 200,000-sq. ft. which can accommodate up to 10,000 people. It has a 13,000-sq. ft. event space, which is designed to house guests and hold music and private events. Yes, private events such as business affairs, wedding receptions, non-profit programs, parties, and so much more. It also has an exhibit floor which is about 68,000-sq. ft., now used to store artifacts and historical findings. Going back to Nashville Music Auditorium (NMA), one of the most popular concerts held here was by Michael Jackson when he performed with his original band, The Jackson 5. It is a 19-acre state park ( it is not a shopping mall, though the name says otherwise.) The grounds are located northwest of the Tennessee State Capitol and was opened in the late 1990's, which marked the 200 years since Tennessee officially became a US State. Its main purpose was for the preservation of the northerly view of the State Capitol Building. The park includes facts about Tennessee’s history, attractions and landmarks, and was primarily built to celebrate the state’s statehood of 200 years. Here on the southern end you will see the amazing Tennessee Map Plaza. This impressively massive granite map of the state measures 200-feet wide. Installed below it are eight smaller counterparts that display other important details about the state. Here is the Rivers of Tennessee Fountains. It showcases 31 water fountains that each represents a major river and waterways of the state.Now we walk over to the northern end of the park through this tree-lined lawn. There are four main walkways. The two inner paths are the Path of Volunteers. The outer path on the east is the Walkway of Counties, a representation of the topography of the Grand Divisions. Underneath are buried time capsules from each county, set to be opened in the future, which will mark the state’s 300th anniversary. The park comprises of a 1,400-foot Pathway of History with engraved historical events that transpired from the years 1796 up to 1996. The decades are marked with granite pylon, though there is a disruption in the wall which represents the Civil War and exactly how the state was divided during that event. There is also a commemorative 18,000-pound granite globe floating in water which represents the World War II Memorial. There is a scaled amphitheater ingenuously patterned after the Epidaurus Amphitheater in Greece which can hold up to 2,000 people. The amphitheater has a center stage with rows of stone steps joined by a terraced lawn where you can rest your feet on the grass. The park is also a perfect place for picnics and gatherings because of its open area. It has a very large lawn and one can spend the day lounging in the green grass enjoying and letting the day pass with your family and friends.This is the Court of Three Stars. The red, white and blue granite represent the three Grand Divisions of Tennessee. These adjacent 50 columns hold a 95-bell carillon that represents the 95 counties of Tennessee. In the early 2000's, this 19-acre park was the number one tourist attraction in Tennessee. Eleven years later it was in the top ten public places in the US.Aside from picnics, the grounds can be considered a really exceptional place to take prenuptial and wedding pictures. There is a court called the Carillons and Court of 3 Stars which has bell towers that represent the counties of the state and the bells play songs every hour.
