More recently he co-founded KoSchool in Austin, Texas, which combined his high-performance approach to AP coursework and SAT score gains with a focus on entrepreneurial and creative projects. KoSchool, in turn, became the original model for The Academy of Thought and Industry, the high school model for the largest Montessori network in the United States.

Students from Michael’s schools have been admitted to Harvard, Stanford, Georgetown, Smith, Bard, Bennington, McGill, UT-Austin, University of Colorado, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Parsons School of Design, Quest, St. John’s and many dozens of other post-secondary institutions.

He is the author of ‘The Habit of Thought: From Socratic Seminars to Socratic Practice’:https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/0944337392/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i1

and lead author of ‘Be the Solution: How Entrepreneurs and Conscious Capitalists Can Solve All the World’s Problems’:
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00245A4NW/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0

Further links to guest resources:
https://flowidealism.medium.com
https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaelstrong1
https://twitter.com/flowidealism
https://www.facebook.com/michael.strong.144
https://www.youtube.com/c/socraticmichaelstrong

Additional resources mentioned:
Sir Ken Robinson (website & books): https://www.sirkenrobinson.com/store/
Education in a Time Between Worlds: Essays on the Future of Schools, Technology, and Society - By Zachary Stein https://www.amazon.com.au/Education-Time-Between-Worlds-Technology/dp/0986282677/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=education+in+a+time+between&qid=1677580756&sr=8-5
Ken Wilber & Integral Life: https://integrallife.com
Books by Ken Wilber: https://www.amazon.com.au/Ken-Wilber/e/B000APH4W2/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1

<itunes:author>Jonas Ogonowski</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>In this episode Michael and I talk about:

<a...</itunes:summary><itunes:duration>7271</itunes:duration><itunes:explicit>false</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://d3wo5wojvuv7l.cloudfront.net/t_rss_itunes_square_1400/images.spreaker.com/original/0eddc0e6e7eb83efb58ee415b0c04eb1.jpg"/><itunes:season>2</itunes:season><itunes:episode>16</itunes:episode><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType>

Chiara Carnevali - Science and Dance - practices in knowledge and humility [Ep. 15]

In this episode Chiara and I talk about:
Her field of microbiology
Dance and self-expression
Asking questions
Science communication
Challenging ourselves with new knowledge
Epistemic humility
The transition from being a student to a teacher

<itunes:author>Jonas Ogonowski</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>In this episode Chiara and I talk about:

She was recently awarded her PhD from The University of Queensland. Her thesis explored the important role that music played in the political-aesthetic programme of the Italian Futurist movement. Her research interests include music of the historical avant-garde, music and politics, and the interaction between music and other artistic disciplines during the early twentieth century. She believes that having an awareness of how music functions within broader socio-political contexts is important to understanding our own human relationship with it—that is, how we interact with it, use it as a mediator and how it can be used towards not just positive but also sometimes dangerous ends.
Apart from her research, Jennifer is also passionate about teaching. For the last 4 years she has enjoyed casual teaching appointments at the School of Music at UQ, where she has taught subjects on music history and analysis. Over the last 10 years she has also run her own business teaching piano privately. Some of the things that Jennifer most enjoys about teaching are the human connection that is cultivated between student and teacher, and the self-confidence that people gain through musical expression. She is a big proponent for adult musical education and for changing the way we “value” taking up hobbies/ pursuits such as playing an instrument—that is, placing emphasis on the increased joy one gains in their everyday life, rather than on how good you can become or whether there is financial reward. Often, she feels as though her students end up teaching her a thing or two.

Resources and links:
Browning Street Sudios
https://browningstreetstudios.com.au

Video introducing Italian Futurism
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hRcuvFK4iQ

A futurist piece by one of the four "official" Futurist composers, Franco Casavola.
