OLORUNDARE

Introduction:
The eventual distress of sexual immorality is untold. Men and women are therefore forewarned of the impending doom of a fornicator/adulterer. Pathetically, there are many innocent looking fornicators in sacred places that are nonetheless guilty as a charged by the holy writ. Still, the Bible does not mince word about the bitter sweet of marital infidelity. According to Prov 9:17-18, the end of a momentary action can lead to sickness and/or a painful death.
The commandment for not to commit adultery is principally in the interest of man, Exo 20:14. May you not be doomed in the zoom of another bosom's blossom boom. Although, adultery is between the married while fornication is largely between the singles but we shall interchangeably subject them to meaning the same thing with same dire consequences.

What is the biblical approach to adultery?
1:- adultery is a sin against God and humanity, 1Cor 6:18-20.
2:- it is an infidelity in a legitimate relationship, Mal 2:14-15.
3:- adultery is theft: it is exploring what is not yours. It including: lustful look, kissing another person's spouse, fondling with the opposite sexual genitals, discussing perverse topic in attempt to satisfy lust, etc.
4:- divorce is a form of adultery. The simple reason that God hates divorce, Mk 10:10-11; Mal 2:14, 16; Matt 19:8-9.
5:- it is an attempt and an act to cheat on a spouse, either in thought or in action, Matt 5:28; Prov 6:25-29.
6:- it is having a lustful eyes and an untoward thoughts regarding the opposite sex, 2Pet 2:14.
7:- premarital sex or any form of infidelity isn't in vogue, but it's a morgue for the unfaithful, Prov 9:17-18.

How to avoid adultery/fornication?
1:- admit your limitations and limit. Don't cross the line of your strength, 2Cor 13:5. We are not wired the same way, and so our resistance to certain things differ from one to another, Rom 12:3, we share in measures.
2:- realize that it is better to marry than to burn, so keep right, 1Cor 7:9. Although marriage might not be a cure to lust, but it does restrict a disciplined person to a place of caution.
3:- be content with your portion, Prov 5:18-20. Contentment is a virtue against the vice of greed. There's nothing in another person's spouse that is not in your own spouse. Just different containers with same content: packaging.
4:- fear God, reverently. The fear of God helps you to turn away from evil. Adultery is an evil under the sun, Prov 3:7; Job 28:28.
5:- don't engage in a loose talk or thoughts with the opposite sex. While talk may be cheap, the effect is undeniably massive, 2Pet 3:11-12. A sweet talk can lead to a very bitter end. Avoid unprofitable smooth talk with the opposite sex, Prov 7:21.
6:- constant meditation of God's word, Josh 1:8. The richness of God's word can starve any ugly thought that creeps in to your heart. In Col 3:16, His word must fill up our hearts while in deep mediation of every good things, Phil 4:8.
7:- keep firmly the gates to your heart, Prov 4:23. Adultery or fornication begins at the level of the thoughts, visual, hearing, etc. so be careful what you feed your heart with. You must watch your thought flow, Jas 1:14-15.
8:- reject every appearance of content that doesn't sanctify the soul: nudity, "killing" curves, vain tunes, negative literatures, indecent dressing, etc. 1Th 5:22-23. Whatever appears evil must be avoided as a plague. Exposed cleavage may lead to serious damage to the onlooker's destiny, Job 31:1.
9:- Refuse unhealthy touching, cuddling, of the opposite sex. The chemistry of the body responds to the biology of every touch in every physics. There is only a thin line between true love and lust; and without caution a devil can be mistaken as an angel of light, 2Cor 11:14.
10:- refuse to yield to the luring of illicit sex, Gen 39:10. You don't have to want it before it wants you: take heed to yourself that you are not derailed from the path of holiness, 1Pet 1:15-16.
11:- manage house-helps with wit and high level alertness: every reasonable wife must never outgrow smart dressing and being responsible at her dutypost in the discharge of her responsibilities, where a female help is of a mature age, or/and as occasion demands, Prov 31:15.
12:- reject "secret" relationship in courtship. Telling a friend or a church member may not actively answer your deepest need. There is a limit to how much help a sheep can get from a sheep. Tell your pastor and ensure legitimate parental consent. It is not every smiling person that's whole; only a psychiatrist knows a patient that is responding to treatment. Be guided, Prov 11:14; 15:22; 24:6.

The bitter end of adultery/fornication:
1:- those involved in adultery are cursed, 2Pet 2:14.
2:- lost of inheritance in the commonwealth of Kingdom citizens, e.g. Reuben, Gen 49:3-4; 1Chron 5:1.
3:- there is the lost of virtue and value, Prov 6:26
4:- separation from God or death, Lev 20:10.
5:- the lost of God's Presence is always a resultant effect of illicit sex, Judges 16:20.
6:- The seducer is always against the grace of God in a person's life. E.g. Samson, Joseph, etc. Prov 7:21-23.
7:- hell fire is the destination of all adulterous persons, Rev 21:8.
8:- every sexual immoral person is plague amidst the community he/she belongs as a deliberate minus to destinies, Rev 2:20-23.

The biblical conversations that remains relevant throughout ages:

"My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman: That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words. For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding, Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart. (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.) So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him, I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows. Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee. I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves. For the goodman is not at home,
he is gone a long journey: He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life." Proverbs 7:1-23.

Conclusion:
Knowing therefore the terror of God, we persuade men and women to flee fornication, 2Cor 5:11; 1Cor 6:18-20. Prayers can be offered to avert damnation in response to confession and repentance, Deut 33:6. If we truly confess and forsake, God will abundantly pardon, 1John 1:9; Isa 1:18-19; 2Cor 5:17-20. As true ambassadors, we must represent Christ in all that we do, and never go back to our vomit, John 8:11; comp. 2Pet 2:22.

<itunes:author>Ekundayo E. OLORUNDARE
Date: Wednesday 27th May 2020.
Time: 5pm - 6pm.
Teaching Purpose: Raising our understanding of God beyond the religious bar.

Introduction:
Your influence is a reference to what you know, now. Had you known more of God, then more power is generated for influence. So, knowledge is the affluence that wields unlimited influence, in opulence. Wasted resources, therefore, is traceable to what you don't know, Hos 4:6.

Understanding the thematic text:
1:- knowing God is a testament (covenant) to the reality of the living God, Eccl 8:4. Not to know God is doing wickedness against the covenant of promise.
2:- the manifestation of the people of power is the answer to a waiting world, Rom 8:19; Prov 24:4.
3:- a clear pointer to your God-type is the answer that you provide to life problems, Jonah 1:6; the world wanted solution but Jonah remained a sleeper.
4:- a distinction that accords your life is in the deliberate demonstration of influential power, Acts 4:13, power of influence transcends a mere academic exercise.
5:- you can't perform greater than the revelation you have, regardless of the elegant platforms for performance, Phil 3:10; Eph 1:18-19.
6:- knowing God turns you into a watered garden of some sort, Isa 58:11, only the God that you are conscious of can guide you to a watered garden.
7:- knowledge is an edge in the game of life, Phil 3:10-12. The much of "what" you know prepares your world for your "who". Your person is sharpened by your personality, and it is answerable to knowledge; devoid of personal identity crisis, Acts 17:28.

Types of Power
1:- Financial Power, Deut 8:18. Money is a force that produces your voice of influence in the commodity market of life. Only God truly gives true wealth.

2:- Spiritual Power, 1Chron 16:19; to be carnally minded is foolishness and death, see Rom 8:6. But having power with God makes you a prince of a nation to prevail, Gen 32:28.

3:- Health Power, Deut 7:15. For we know that the whole world lies in wickedness and sickness, it takes divine health to be a force, comp. 1John 5:19. God told Pastor E.A. Adeboye to have his bath with a seemingly unclean water, and that Jesus' blood was stronger and more effective than Izal (disinfectant). After many years of that experience, the man of God is still very much alive. That's super power, Mk 16:18; Acts 28:4-6.

How do I access influential power?
1:- The Presence of God, Gen 32:28. Jacob gained power with God. You can't live in pleasure without some form of influential power, and that can only be found in His Presence, Ps 16:11.

2:- Being studious, Daniel 9:2. People can gain enormous influence by the ease of access into books. What is written is for our example for greater exploits, Rom 15:4. When what is in the scriptures becomes your culture, you cannot end up as a vulture (scavenger). It is true that readers are leaders, Acts 17:28; and it takes reading to know what poets have said concerning the issues of life.

3:- Keeping company with the influential, Prov 13:20. Walking with the wise can promote you to the level of the truly great. Saul found himself in the company of prophets and he was taken as a prophet, 1Sam 10:11-12, you will always behave the company that you keep. You association can determine the solution you can access.

4:- Deliberate thanksgiving, 2Chron 13:13-14. No problem can stand thanksgiving. Solution is always at the instance of gratitude in the face of aptitude, 2Chron 20:15-22, enormous power is wielded when we praise the almightiness of God. According Ps 22:3, God inhabits the praises of His people: that's raw mobile and resident power!

Benefits of Knowing God:
1:- happiness is a function of the happenings around what you know about God, John 13:17. What happens in you is bigger than what is happening around you, when God is involved.
2:- access to the power of His resurrection for effective ministry and service to God and humanity, Phil 3:10.
3:- freedom from oppression and wastage, Hos 4:6. Resources are unlimited, but it takes what you know to have a successful management.
4:- salvation as well as a departure from evil and destruction is the lot of knowledgeable believers, Job 28:28.
5:- understanding to life's mysteries, Deut 29:29; Prov 9:10. Life is full of deep mysteries without the knowledge of God. But with knowing God, every mystery becomes demystified open secrets.
6:- strength and exploits, Dan 11:32; 2Chron 26:15. Testimonials are proofs of your certificates if you know God, indeed.
7:- divine guidance is a sure assurance of insurance, Isa 30:21. Those who know their God cannot be stranded in their map reading.

What are the implication of not knowing God?
1:- destruction of life and property, Hos 4:6. Resources are wasted for not knowing the Great Supplier.
2:- Longtime captivity, Judges 6:1-2; Job12:25. Oppression rides on the wheel of ignorance, in total darkness. What you don't know can keep you from what knows you, to your disadvantage.
3:- Celebration of the gift at the Giver's expense. In Ps 78:29-30, the preference of the food over the giver of the meal was what wasted the children of Israel.
3:- Lost of sight(natural, mental, spiritual eyes). Blindness in any form can limit your edge over issues of life. In Mk 10:46-52, Bartimaeus lacked the natural eyes but had spiritual eyes. Capacity to think straight is damaged when mental eyes are blinded, 2Cor 4:4. Spiritual eyes helps for deeper revelation beyond the misery of life into the mysteries of destiny, Eph 1:18. May you not lose your inner eyes, 2Kings 6:15-17; John 1:4.
4:- A life of weakling. The less of God that you know the more weakness sets in to your life.
5:- Stagnancy. When the God of light is missing, people live in darkness and start kissing darkness while hissing, Job 5:13-14.
5:- Shame. It is Christ in us that commands glory, Col 1:27. To be without Christ, spells doom and utter disgrace.
6:- Lack of understanding, Eph 4:18. Without an opening of your understanding, you can never be outstanding. The greatest theologian is the one whose understanding has been opened, Lk 24:45.
7:- absence of God's Presence and His ways, Job 21:14-15; Exo 33:15. Whatever takes you off the truth will take you off every good thing.

Conclusion:
Without discovery, recovery is not in sight. His provision is premised for access on the strength your vision. The enemy's greatest weapon in his arsenal is to shut you off from knowing God, personally. Being zealous or religious doesn't make you a fulfilled saint, Rom 10:1-3. Indeed, if the church truly knows Christ, the world won't be enmeshed in so much crisis. May the Lord help us to consciously know Him in spirit and in truth. Amen.

Ekundayo E.

According Ps 22:3, God inhabits the praises of His people: that's raw...</itunes:summary><itunes:duration>900</itunes:duration><itunes:explicit>clean</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://d3wo5wojvuv7l.cloudfront.net/t_rss_itunes_square_1400/images.spreaker.com/original/70a9a6ce6f1ceeeaa60f90229169d755.jpg"/><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType>

The Covenant Of Promise

COVENANT OF
PROMISE
Text: Eph 2:12-16
Facilitator: Ekundayo E. OLORUNDARE
Date: Wednesday 20th May 2020.

Intro:
The import of a covenant is to strengthen a promise that is made. Promises, from God, are strong. But there is a higher level of promise that is backed up by covenant, and it is stronger in delivery. A covenant is of a surer dimension with an oath of promise which cannot easily be annulled even when it is not convenient, Heb 6:8. A covenant is a contractual agreement between two or more persons with individual responsibility to the corporate goal that brings about fulfillment of promises. In a promise, the promisor is responsible to make it good to the promisee regardless, but covenant requires that both parties play their individual responsibilities.
The covenant between God and man is between a higher power and a lesser force, Heb 7:7-8. Every tither, for example, has a covenant between himself and God, Mal 3:10-12. You could also have covenant between man and another person, 1Sam 18:3; 20:16-17; 23:18. Still, covenant among men and its enforcement is supervised by a higher power, Eccl 5:8.

Understanding our thematic text: Eph 2:12-16.
1:- those without the covenant are aliens and strangers to the promise of the Father, Col 1:21; Eph 4:18.
2:- The blessing is only accessed via a covenant, even as obedient sons and daughters, Lk 24:49.
3:- becoming a citizen of God's kingdom is covenant based, John 3:3, 5-8.
4:- it is on the basis of the redemptive covenant that we have access in Christ/Messiah, Matt 27:51-53.
5:- we have no hope; lost in misery and helpless without the enactment of the covenant, John 17:12.
6:- ordinances that were negative to us were annulled to make provision for a new covenant, Col 2:14.
7:- the new covenant brought us anew with reconcilable peace, 2Cor 5:19.

What is the value that God placed on men of covenant?
1:- He sees them as the precious saints (forgiven sinners) with unrestrained access to the blessing, Ps 50:5.
2:- covenant distinguishes those involved from those not involved, Gen 12:1-9, from the moment Abram left for his journey, in agreement with God, a covenant was enforced, to his distinction.
3:- covenant forbids lying, Heb 6:17-18. In God is a yes and an amen, 2Cor 1:20.

At what point may one initiate a covenant?
1:- to strengthen a relationship with God, Ps 89:1-3.
2:- in times of global trouble. 2Sam 24:24-25.
3:- when in dire need of urgent help, comp 2Kings 3:26-27.

Types of covenant:
Every covenant is usually conditional in nature that informs individual responsibilities.
1:- Marital covenant, Mal 2:14-16; Heb 13:4; Eph 5:21-29. There is an unbending and unbroken covenant between husband and wife that transcends human traditions and cultures. God hates divorce because it is an aspect that breaks a covenant. None shall be barren in the land is a response to a covenant, Exo 23:26; Deut 7:14.

2:- Prosperity covenant, Deut 8:11-18; Ps 35:27; 3John 2. While wealth flies from people of no covenant, Prov 23:5, it flies to settle in the house of the righteous by way of wealth transfer, Prov 13:22. The covenant drives away devourer far from you, Mal 3:8-10. Be deliberate in your love offerings and be faithful in your tithing, then watch God for special harvest. What prayers "won't" do, giving will do, Lk 6:38; 2Cor 8:3-5.

3:- health covenant, Exo 15:26. The presence of good health is a sure demand on an activated covenant. Eat right, under God, and live right, Jer 30:17. In 2Kings 2:19-22, a healing miracle was an answered prayer to a people of covenant. What others didn't have access to, was what covenant engagement brought to them, freely.

4:- safety covenant, Ps 91:1-8. Covenant people smile at the storm in safety and victory, Isa 26:3-4. Part of the covenant right is to depart from the paths of the destroyer, Ps 17:4. Covenant right makes us to be too defended to be a victim of circumstance. Safety covenant takes you well above mere coincidence to a deliberate incidence of total protection amidst evils, Isa 54:17.

5:- answered prayers, Ps 20:1-4; Jer 33:3; John 11:42-44. It is not everyone's prayers that enjoy answers, but activated covenant ascertains answers from God as opposed to the wicked, Prov 5:8.

6:- age long turnaround, Ps 126:1-3. Breaking away from generational curses/spells can be initiated and activated via a covenant with God, see Ps 118:17-21.

7:- covenant of life, Ps 91:16. The blood of Jesus has been a surer covenant of life, 1John 1:7; Heb 12:24; 9:23-26; John 11:25. Truth is, the life of Christ is what makes us alive, Acts 17:28; John 11:25-26.

8:- covenant of God's Presence, Exo 33:15. Carriers of God's Presence enjoy unlimited access to the benefits of God, Ps 16:11. There are tough times for those who don't have the presence of God, Judges 16:20-21.

How do we get into a covenant, divine or satanic?
1:- written agreements, Jer 30:2. Don't joke with what is written, it is greater than what is happening, comp. Hab 2:2; Jer 22:30. Once it is written, it is binding, Acts 9:2.

2:- blood agreement, 1John 5:7-8; Heb 12:24. The believers have a premise on the platform of Jesus' blood for a concrete agreement. But the people of the world use all kinds of blood for covenant rites.

3:- oath of promises, Num 30:2. Swearing is popular among certain cultures, and it is binding on them; but as believers our yes must be yes and our no must be no, Matt 5:37; Jas 5:12; Heb 7:20-21; Acts 23:12, 21.

4:- every belief system is covenant based, Acts 9:34-35. Belief system is stronger than danger or death. Your belief system is form of an agreement that is binding on its practices. And when contravened, it endures grave consequences.

5:- initiation rites, Col 2:11. As believers, baptism is a form of initiation into the beloved, Rom 6:3; 1Cor 12:13; Gal 3:7. Holy communion is also a form of a reenactment of the covenant, 1Cor 11:24-25; Exo 12:12-14.

6:- sexual intercourse, pornography, masturbation, holy/unholy affairs, Matt 5:27-28; Job 31:1. Relationship among legal and legitimate couples enjoy a divine covenant, and where it is supervised by satan, covenant is still in force.

7:- activities of day or dream, and eating in it, Lev 17:14; Deut 12:23-25. Don't joke with what you habitually do in your dreams; they might just be a doorway to entering a covenant.

The strength of a covenant:
1:- faithfulness, 1Cor 4:2; Heb 3:5. One of the reasons God detest adultery is the lack of faithfulness on the part of an adulterer. Until a man is found faithful, the covenant of promise appears as being very weak to perform.

2:- sincerity, Jas 1:17; Ps 78:72. absence of pretense or hypocrisy makes the covenant to be effectual.
3:- diligence and hard work, Prov 22:29; 2Pet 3:14. Every covenant needs some level of hard work and super diligence. The success of the nation of Israel is partly hinged on the covenant as well as diligence and hard work, to enforcing the reality of the covenant.

4:- commitment and steadfastness. Loafers don't have access to the loaf of heaven. We must therefore be committed to our integrity because God cannot deny Himself, 2Tim 2:13. So, it takes a level of self denial to be committed to the demands of the covenant, Lk 9:23.

5:- confession of your profession, Heb 10:21-23; Heb 4:14-16. What you say before the altar can make or mar your world.

6:- love. A lover of God has cut and court an irreversible covenant with Him, see 1Kings 3:3; Solomon loved the Lord with a reckless love which informed his level of sacrificial giving, 1Kings 3:4. Sacrifice is the bedrock of initiating a covenant. Love without sacrifices is dead and useless, John 3:16. Jonathan and David loved themselves as initiated by deep sacrifices.

7:- Holy living, Gen 17:1, God told Abraham to not only walk but to be holy. According to Peter in 1Pet 1:15; 2Pet 3:11; holiness is a prerequisite for strengthening our covenant with God.

Consequences of breaking a covenant:
When conditions or words of a covenant are not fulfilled but broken, there can be dire consequences on the part of the breaker, see Deut 29:9.
1:- death penalty, Gen 2:17. The covenant that God made with Adam was violated by Adam & Eve, and were separated (died) forever. And death continued till this day until the final catching up of the saints.

2:- retrogression. Owing to the break of the covenant, man has steadily gone backwards in the number of his age, as opposed to an eternal abode in the garden, comp. Ps 90:10 (70 or 80years); Gen 5:5 (Adam lived 930years).

3:- failures at the verge of breakthrough. Just before they lay hold on the promise, "another steps into their place" as in John 5:7 is an example of a man under a broken covenant. A near-success syndrome is a symptom of a broken covenant, Judges 6:1-6.

4:- harrowing experiences of excruciating pain, Gen 3:16. Conception and fruitfulness should be as natural as drinking water under the covenant, Gen 1:22, 28; but it takes a horrible turn when it is broken, just as it is the case of Eve and everyone that followed her ways, Gen 3:16.

5:- labour loss, Hag 1:9-11. Every time God is not honoured, people suffered labour loss, Mal 1:6, 14. You would remember that Peter laboured all night and caught nothing, Lk 5:5. Don't forget that the first thing man ought to have dominion over was fish, Gen 1:28, but fish was dodging Peter all night.

Conclusion:
God has a part to play, in the fulfillment of promises, that man cannot fit in to while man also has a part to play that God won't do; in every covenant. If you are therefore willing and obedient, then, and only then will the Lord be committed to doing what you want. Still, covenant can be renewed or reenancted. Never seek the approvals of anyone in your special relationship with God, in prayer, offerings, fasting, vows, etc.
We must therefore return to the Lord via repentance, and He will abundantly pardon.

<itunes:author>Ekundayo E. It's a bible exegesis that should draw out the best from us to a waiting world. Thank God for all the RCCG Dew of Heaven family as well as the friends of the family, you’re blessed beyond measures to becoming blessings. And may God breathe freshness upon us all in Jesus’ precious name. May our heaven be opened to receive grace. To Him alone be all the glory!
From week last resolve: the need to deliberately disciple from the multitudes so as to drive out the serpents from our garden. May we not labour in vain. Amen.

Topic: The Ride of Pride
Text: Ps 138:6; Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Date: Wednesday 13th May 2020.
Time: 5pm - 6pm.

Teaching Purpose: help every believer to doing personal examination and re-evaluation 2Cor 13:5
Instruction: Keep your Bible opened as your quick reference. Read comments and deliberately read bible passages thoroughly before making any response, and on a real time basis.

Introduction:
The first sign and sinking-sin of the proud is that they are ungrateful-ingrates. And the second is like unto the first one, they are loud and stubborn.
What is pride?
It is the elevation of oneself to his destruction. Pride is an unregulated self esteem, no matter how positive it is intended, 1Cor 9:27. Pride lacks self control but wants to control others: it is the spirit of warlock. Pride is the excitement in arrogance. When pride (positive sense) loses its elegance, it is called arrogance. Pride comes from an untamed self importance and being pretentious that makes you snobbery with supercilious attitude.

The truth about man:
1:- Man, without God's input, is in his native nothingness and empty, less than a complete minus, Ps 8:4; Gen 1:26-28; Gen 2:7, you are a an infinitesimal spec of dust.
2:- all that man has is given to him by God, John 3:27; 1Cor 4:7.
3:- all men were made, Ps 100:3. It is humbling to know that we were made, there are no self made persons: God made you. Think about it.
4:- all men are like a fading flower or grass that passes away, Isa 40:6-8. Would you like to be described as a grass? Without grace, all men are like a grass.
5:- all men are like worms but for grace, Job 25:6. When you remember how detestable and fragile man is, you would reason why he should not be proud.

How did man get to the level of pride? It is in the ignorance our our identity and where we are coming.

Ways by which Pride manifest?
1:- Our actions and thoughts, Num 20:10, "shall we..." was subtle but the underlying pride of Moses; it cost him Canaan.
2:- Our speech and disposition, 1Sam 2:3. Paul said "let your speech be seasoned with grace and salt, Col 4:6; Lk 14:34-35; Matt 5:13.
3:- Our dressing or carriage. In Isa 14:12-19. When what we wear begins to wear us, pride has set in fully.
4:- Our look, Prov 6:16-17; Ps 101:5. The one that made the eyes is not blind, Ps 94:9.
5:- Our ingratitude. A proud man is far from being grateful, 2Tim 3:2. Proud people have entitlement mentality that makes them never to be appreciative of anything good. Ps 14:1, it takes the foolishness of pride to deny God in all His doings.
6:- Our sense of being too critical, 1Sam 25:5-12, Nabal was a mistake of occurrence in character and disposition because he was too critical. When nothing pleases you (you may be a perfectionist) then beware of that subtlety called pride.
7:- Our incorrigibility. Highly principled people have a thin line separating them from being incorrigible. When you are unyielding, unbending, one way thinker, then pride has taken over your heart in full force. This attitude comes from the ignorance of a knowing everything there is to know attitude.
8:- Proud people are given to unrestrained anger, see Dan 3:19. Behind every anger is the thought that your pride was trampled upon. The simple reason says we should not sin, when angry, Eph 4:26.

The sad end of the pride:
1:- it short circuits destiny to a malfunction mode. Dan 4:24-25. The misbehavior of destiny is largely to pride. Read Uzziah's story and his misbehavior even as a king in the office that was not his, 2Chron 26:16-21, he was quarantined till death.
2:- it damages a laudable destiny without a claim to damages (restoration). Dan 5:20-21, Nebu had double honours in the university of animals for zoology with a compulsory elective in botany.
3:- it endures the full resistance of God and confirms a life full of limitation. Jas 4:6; 1Pet 5:5.
4:- it makes destiny to stink and sink irrecoverably. Absalom lost it to pride and his beauty.
5:- it rubbishes the beauty of God in a man's life. Ezek 28:1-10. Pride makes you to lose your ride.
6:- The ride of pride is the fastest but never the safest, as it doesn't lead to the promised land. Job 40:11-12; Isa 14:12-19.
7:- Pride inhibits the sense of positive reasonings, Ps 14:1. A proud man has genuinely lost his reasoning to the world of animals. E.g. Brother Nebu, Dan 4:10-16

Is pride an exclusive preserve of the rich, no?
A classical example is the other thief on the cross. He missed free but not cheap redemption because of pride, as a nonentity. See Lk 23:39-42.
1:- poor people with wrong mindset can be proud.
2:- poor people with entitlement mentality can be proud.
3:- poor and ignorant people can be proud. Those whose information about an issue is partial can be very proud.
4:- an ingrate poor person can be proud. When little or nothing makes you to be thankful from your heart, then pride has filled your heart.
5:- a debonair gentleman with suave but poor can be proud. Absalom' beauty was not because of aristocracy, it was nature's endowment that got misuse. Swag may turn to rag because of pride, and rag can be seen as swag as a result of humility.

How to overcome pride?
1:- Be thankful, 1Th 5:18. Humble people are full of thanksgiving.
2:- Play the second fiddle. See others are uniquely greater than you. By disposition, no one is better than you but by function, anyone is uniquely greater than you.
3:- Learn to take corrections. Bow to a superior light, quickly. Only a permanent cast needs no correction but a hammer to its destruction. Be flexible for life input for upgrade and updates.
4:- Avoid a judgmental attitude. No one is total, even Total filling station may not have fuel. We simply complement one another, and it remains a compliment, never a right but a privilege, Eph 4:16.
5:- Refuse the applause of men and obey every clause in His word. Many lives have been ruined because of what people say as opposed to what God said, Acts 12:22-23.
6:- Always remember that your best has a limitation. Whenever you are told that you are the best, remind them that there is something called better than the best. People break records, 1Sam 18:7-8. Only God is constant in all ages, Heb 13:8.
7:- Remember, living is a privilege, never a right, Jas 4:13-15. Approach life with an attitude and a sense of thanksgiving. You could have been an insect or a stone. It is a privilege to be alive.
8:- Live in wisdom, Prov 8:15. It takes wisdom to enjoy the kingdom; if you are not wise, you can't rise. Pride ruins a glorious ride.

Conclusion:
Allow your true sense to return to you now. You don't have to learn by experience but you can learn from experience of others, like Nebuchadnezzar, Dan 4:34-37. Hope is not lost when you truly submit to the lordship of Jesus, He can save to the uttermost.

8:- Proud people are given to...</itunes:summary><itunes:duration>864</itunes:duration><itunes:explicit>clean</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://d3wo5wojvuv7l.cloudfront.net/t_rss_itunes_square_1400/images.spreaker.com/original/357cba12ef133d57a8bf42e2280d2b8d.jpg"/><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType>

John! Read comments and deliberately read bible passages thoroughly before making any response, and on a real time basis.
Introduction:
According to our text, John was a seemingly successful man of God whose ministry gained notoriety from a sheer obscurity, in the wilderness. The multitudes from the city of peace subjected themselves to the trouble of going to meet John, but they weren't saved. They wanted to belong to sect that was in vogue, but missed the content in the container. They got baptismal certificate but had no redemption package, see Heb 6:9.

A semblance in today's ministry:
1:- Idol worship is becoming a lifestyle among Kingdom citizens, 2Chron 25:2
2:- The thought of wanting to mix Christ with cruelty of Satan is fast becoming a norm, Acts 8:18-23.
3:- The attempt to serve the devil and still have church services as a pastime is tragically becoming a commonsensical analysis with the ensuing paralysis, Lk 4:6-8.
4:- they only come to church to watch as spectators, never as partakers of His glory, 2Kings 2:7, 15

What happened to John before the Holy Ghost interruption?
1:- he was carried away with the multitude without the sense of discipleship, Matt 22:14; the chosen are better than those who merely accessed the invitation card.
2:- he has a sense of quantity far above quality, Joel 3:14; quantity of people without the right sense of judgement is a crisis.
3:- he was preoccupied with the beauty of the work but not the God of the work, Eph 2:8-10; Not of works, lest any man should boast. It's all about the grace of God. Comp. Lk 10:17, 20.

The nature of our today's church members:
1:- they believe in the building (physical structures) than in the God that doesn't live in man made house, see Acts 7:48; Acts 17:24-25; Rev 21:3.
2:- they enjoy the sentiment of seeing before believing as opposed to believing before manifestations, John 11:40; John 20:24-29; 1Pet 1:8.
3:- they can't reproduce what Pastor John represented. This is why it's difficult for them to do evangelism in their neighborhood, see Phil 2:16; Gal 3:1-3; Matt 17:17-20.
4:- they believe going to church (physical structure) is marking church register, Rom 9:7; 1John 2:19; Matt 3:9.
5:- they misrepresent the nature of Christ outside of the church environment. You cannot safely identify with some of them on social media or other places than in church, with their strange identities of multiple wardrobes for different lifestyles, John 8:39; Matt 7:16, 20; Eph 5:3-5.
6:- even church ministers believe solely on those who give them money, and are thereby distracted. And I am sometimes saddened by the crop of music/word ministers who ONLY care about those who sponsor "their ministries", see John 12:4-6.

The description of John after the Holy Ghost intervention:
1:- he described the multitude in their uniqueness as devastatingly dangerous, see Matt 3:7; 2Pet 2:17; Jude 12.
2:- he knew the multitudes would only behave as spoilers, and treated them as such, Acts 28:3-5; Num 11:4-10.
3:- his focus became realigned to the voice of God, John 5:30; Isa 55:8; Jer 29:11.
4:- he told them not to be contented with baptismal certificate but to produce testimonial of proofs, Lk 3:8-14; Matt 7:18; Matt 3:8.

What are the responsibilities of the renewed John?
1:- let your light shine before men, Matt 5:16.
2:- be a living example of what you preach, deliberately, see 1Tim 4:12.
3:- be firm in your dispositions and conducts, Ti 2:15.
4:- let your word be seasoned with salt and grace, Col 4:6.
5:- keep at raising disciples not rearing multitudes, Matt 18:20; the few that are gathered in the name of the Lord are better than multitude worshipping the unknown God, Acts 17:23.
6:- being baptized to Christ, is being dead to sin, Rom 6:3.
7:- don't be complacent, Amos 6:1. Well, I know a Commissioner of Police (CP), in this town, that doesn't miss Sunday School. That's a plus to his confession as a Christian. The demand of Christian commitment is not cheap. You can't hide your identity in denial of Christ and His church at a time like this, Mk 14:69-71.

Conclusion:
Be reminded that until the church seeming members are delivered from being poisonous snakes, as vipers, with their adaptive characteristic to do damage, they would keep biting the innocent, only to run away from the church; after their evil agenda as it's characterized by natural snakes. Beware of numbers that are not members; total strangers.
Whoever gives you counsel can also cancel your life. Whoever gives you direction can also keep your life from expression.
