This is a deep one.

Being a person who was groomed from trauma, i've found setting boundaries have been a hard thing to do and i know Toni can relate. whether it's setting boundaries for our thoughts, emotions, relationship, friendships etc. boundaries have been something we as a people, have not fully dive into and practiced, daily. 

In this video, we will allow you to see that our thoughts should be the number one place, we can and should start to set those boundaries. what people don’t realize is that your silent monologues are what leads your life actions and decisions. Another way to acknowledge is how those silent monologues are groomed from other people’s narrative and words, especially for trauma lived… people.

As an abuse victim having boundaries with yourself is extremely important!! Especially mentally. Then setting standards with your thought is something that we don’t think is important. Boundaries and standard for your thoughts, stops them from running wild and free. Have standards for what type… of thoughts you’re entertaining. It’s similar to what you would allow for your external surrounding.

Entertaining thoughts that don’t allow for positive growth and healing would be a starting point. 

Don’t allow your thoughts to continue to be your abuser…. 

Boundary starts with what you ALLOW……

Remember, you are your own nurturer, your lover, you security, your home... which means you can also be your personal bad guy..... Don't allow yourself to continue the narrative that has hurt you.......

With trauma like ours, wanting a nurturing “ love” can make use look in the wrong places and wanting it from the wrong people, especially in the relationships we’ve form.

I know you all saw the thumbnail and yes, we are talking about sexual abuse…. It’s a taboo topic my co-host and I realized that our black families avoid (like the plague)  or don’t know how to heal from it, as some of use just join the “suck it up”Or “get over it” train. Our families have had years of pushing this “under the rug”.  she and I both have had first hand experience with this taboo topic and experience, so let’s discuss.

 In the video we will not only reveal all.. but we’ve decided to turn this into a healing SERIES for our community, after all , we are on the Kulture healing page. Today she will not only reveal her experience but I will reveal mine as well. This was not how envisioned my self revealing this but the ancestors pushed and I went for it. Please, joined us while you take a journey into our stories and healing. This will be heavy for some families but please watch has it can take you inside the mind and emotion of a family member who went through this or even yourself.

I'm sure us, as a melanated beings, have been through some form of colorism, but what some of us are not aware of is that colorism is also within our melanated sisterhood and blood sisterhood. Today, my girl and i are here to break down our journey with COLORISM, with her living in thailand for a period of time, and i'm sure some you are aware of the heighten colorist behavior in thailand ( go watch the thai commercials on youtube) then me, living in the caribbean have witnessed and lived some of it, which made a smooth transition in  which we greatly relate on this topic. I hope that this brings  awareness to your circle and hopefully nip it in the bud, because in reality, we are  just need healing from this chess game.
