Over quarantine and being stuck at home we have had a lot more time on our hands; how have we dealt with it(other than this podcast XD)? With the remote in our hands, we have embarked on many a journey with the shows we have watched. Here are some of our favorites, and what they meant to us!

In this episode, we talked about:

1. The 40 Year Old Version! An almost 40 school teacher is reaching the point in her life when she looks back and wonders what she has done with it(spoiler alert: not much). How does she choose to solve this? Becoming a rapper! This show has a lot of hidden lessons in between the lines that everyone could benefit from learning.

2. Euphoria! This show, headlined by Zendaya, is a masterclass in its presentation, its acting, and its characters. It tells us about the dangers of addiction, the problem of self devaluing, religion, God, life’s meaning, and way more in a way that is an immersive experience.

3. The Sound Of Metal! This show follows a drummer and former addict who suddenly loses his sense of hearing. This is one show that perfectly exemplifies the randomness of life. There are things you will never control, including the people around who support you.

How do you deal with this uncertainty?

This conversation is one that is insightful, memorable, and best of all, full of the best recommendations for your future watching. Give it a listen!
.
As always, this episode is available on all podcast platforms...and on YouTube! Mike and Risi, a husband and wife dynamic duo that we have known for well over 20 years! As we sat down to film this episode (during our joint family vacation in Chincoteague, Virginia this summer), we started off going down the memory lane of how they met and became High School sweethearts. We eventually settled on the main topic of Child Rearing. Specifically what best practices we leverage, and how children can throw a wrench into your relationship if you are not aligned on how to approach raising children.
Once again, this is another 2 part-er. In this episode, we talk about college to marriage to children. We’ll finish the discussion next episode.
We discuss:
1. Marriage! Specifically how we met our partners, our stories as a couple, and the long winding path in between.
2. Parenting tactics - The different styles of parenting in relationships, and how the different styles might clash, and how we're evolving our styles and approaches on this very important journey.
As always, check us out on all podcast platforms. What a year it's been! Now that summer is coming to an end (which by the way...did we actually HAVE summer? Summer....I need my money back!!), Mack and I sit down to reminisce on our memorable moments from the past 2 months...our adventures, trials, tribulations..and most importantly LESSONS LEARNED.
Of course, or should I say per usual, this is a 2 part-er. In this episode, we reminisce on our time from the end of May to our family reunion weekend over the 4th of July. We’ll close out the remainder of the summer on the next episode.
We discuss:
1. Our trip to Houston to celebrate my sister's birthday, and share highlights from the stops made along the way, including a detour to visit friends in Denver and Dallas. Thank God for good friends! The topic of the episode is: What about your friends...and family. 🙂 Just typing this makes me want to dedicate the next week to #TLC
2. Flexibility!! One thing for sure is that between Mack and myself, I'm the more spontaneous one. And the need to be spontaneous can be challenging when married to someone who likes to plan things out. How do we as a family manage such differences of approach...without growing resentful of each other. And how to continue living out loud, while negotiating and balancing the need for spontaneity with proper planning. 🤷🏿
3. We also touch on the balance between doing you vs. bending to do what your partner. Ultimately we explore when you do you and when you must go together. The quote: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together" seems appropriate here.
As always, check us out on all podcast platforms...and YouTube. 🤗🤗🤗
.
.
.
Enjoy! This week, Mack and I catch up with our good friend, Foluso Gbadamosi. If you don't know Foluso...you better ask about her! 😁🤣. She is the Director of Business Processes and Technology at Prime Atlantic Group, as well as a Social Advocate. She is passionate about doing whatever she can to call attention to social ills and contribute to the advancement of all people...as she does through her nonprofit @Serving with Love. Foluso is also quite active on social media...winning an award for..what?... using her platform for good.

This was such a good conversation...one that feeds the soul. We talked about:
Her first book: “Dream On Dreamer”. She provides insight into the process of birthing this best selling book and what inspired her to write the book.
How she finds time to express all her passions with her limited time in the day. This week, Mack and I catch up with our good friend, Foluso Gbadamosi. If you don't know Foluso...you better ask about her! 😁🤣. She goes into amazing details about how she's transformed her life by making the decision to pick herself up after the loss of both her parents to cancer (10 years apart) to start living the life of her dreams. Having a renewed sense of urgency and purpose towards life, she decided to leave her job as an educator to explore her passion for tea. LaTonia leveraged Kickstarter to raise the initial startup capital and hasn't looked back since. While it hasn't always been easy, she's had amazing successes and experiences along the way in the mere 9 months since she started her business. From being featured in Essense Magazine to participating in Renae Bluitt's "In her shoes blog", LaTonia's practice (what she calls her business) is a testament to the notion of "if you build it, they will come".

We love LaTonia's mantra, which is particularly appropriate during this time as the world is fighting the Corona pandemic: "When the world is moving too fast and things become heavy, pause.
The rest can wait. Adjourn with me."

So much amazing goodness was shared on this episode.
