ProTipsters Johny and Paddy are huge fans of winter sports so it’s only right that they came together to make a podcast about the Olympics that’s actually exciting and not a borefest of watching people just run around tracks. The Winter Olympics isn’t that different to the summers ones but there’s just a far higher chance of death in all the sports; except curling and figure skating, but c’mon they’re not really sports. Nobody really even knows why they are actual events every found years.
First up and this is especially for those of you out there who aren’t hugely up to speed on the Winter Olympic events, we’ve got a quiz. It’s ProTipsters Paddy Vs Johny. Paddy asks Johny to explain all the events in less than 10 seconds and Paddy has to ask some general trivia on the Winter Olympic games.
We get into the meat of it then and speak about some of the main sports. Ice-hockey is by far the most watched of the sports, along with the mens’ and womens’ downhill skiing events. But unfortunately the ice-hockey tournament this year has been hit by a large blow. The NHL, the National Hockey League (North America’s professional league) has not taken a break to allow its players to play at the Winter Olympics. Obviously this effects the American and Canadian teams hugely and they’ll need to depend on players who play in Europe and beyond but some of the traditionally smaller teams like Germany, Slovakia and so on will all suffer too since all of their best players play in the NHL.

There’s been enough written about why the NHL hasn’t allowed their players to play in South Korea so there’s no point in spending so much time on it here, but suffice to way our ProTipsters are fiercely disappointed that we won’t be seeing a full-strength ice-hockey tournament in 2018.
Next up we have a chat about the favourites in the skiing. American skier Mikaela Shiffrin is a strong favourite in the women's skiing events while Austrian Marcel Hirscher has been unstoppable all season long on the FIS circuit. Lindsey Vonn is an absolute legend in the sport too and the events are going to be super exciting.
We have a chat then about some of the smaller sports and who some of the favourites are in things like biathlon, speed skating, cross-country and ski jumping.
We couldn't of course have not spoken about America’s Shaun White, the most famous snowboarder ever. He disappointed at Sochi last time out but is favourite to take a few medals home with him from PyeongChang.

ProTipster Football Podcast
We’ve got something new starting this week too; a charity bet where we add bets into an accumulator that the ProTipsters agree on during the podcast.
Let’s get into this then, first up is the Friday night Serie A clash between Fiorentina and the Old Lady, Juventus. This is a huge match in the Serie A calendar which I’ve already written about on our website. Fiorentina manager Stefano Piolo has made Fiorentina very difficult to beat at home but can Juventus continue their amazing form, or have their heads been turned while thinking of their upcoming Champions League match against Spurs next Tuesday.
We’re off to The Championship then for the Friday night match between fourteenth placed Millwall and forth placed Cardiff City. Millwall are just so tough to beat at home and have put a pretty decent run of form together. But Cardiffare also in great form, they’re defence has been outstanding and is the reason they’re fighting for promotion.
e’ve off to the Premier League then with the big match taking place early on Saturday afternoon where Spurs are taking on Arsenal in the North London derby. Spus have well put to bed their Wembley hoodoo and Arsenal are nothing short of useless away from the Emirates Stadium. The ProTipsters find some great stats and even some info regarding the referee, an old enemy of Arsene Wenger. We’ve written a preview for this game too, you can read it here.
Football Betting Tips
West Ham Vs Watford is our next featured game. Watford were mighty against Chelsea during the week and with West Ham being nothing but consistently inconsistent this one looks like it could go either way. So then is it goals galore or a win for one of the London sides? You’ll have to listen to find out.
We have an auld natter then about Antonio Conte and why he hasn’t been fired, although Chelsea’s jinx team West Brom are just laying in wait to claim yet another scalp of a Chelsea manager next Monday night. Lionel Messi gets a mention too for two news stories that have been doing the rounds this weekend.
We stick with the Premier League next and speak about Champions-elect Manchester City who are taking on Leicester City at home. Can City put their Burnley bump behind them and while they couldn’t hit the next more than once last week, do the ProTipster Boys think we’ll see goals here on Saturday evening.
ProTipster’s Serie A expert ProTipster Marco is next up on the pod and he’s got some great tips for us. First up is Fiorentina Vs Juventus which we spoke about a little bit at the beginning and I ask him a bit more about how Juventus are preparing for taking on Harry Kane & Co. Marco also speaks about another massive match up between Napoli and Lazio and gives us his tips for that and finally another one from the Serie A match between Torino and Udinese.

We’ve got something new starting this week too; a charity bet where we add bets into an accumulator that the ProTipsters agree on during the podcast.
Let’s get into this then, first up is the Friday night Serie A clash between Fiorentina and the Old Lady, Juventus. This is a huge match in the Serie A calendar which I’ve already written about on our website. Fiorentina manager Stefano Piolo has made Fiorentina very difficult to beat at home but can Juventus continue their amazing form, or have their heads been turned while thinking of their upcoming Champions League match against Spurs next Tuesday.
We’re off to The Championship then for the Friday night match between fourteenth placed Millwall and forth placed Cardiff City. Millwall are just so tough to beat at home and have put a pretty decent run of form together. But Cardiffare also in great form, they’re defence has been outstanding and is the reason they’re fighting for promotion.
e’ve off to the Premier League then with the big match taking place early on Saturday afternoon where Spurs are taking on Arsenal in the North London derby. Spus have well put to bed their Wembley hoodoo and Arsenal are nothing short of useless away from the Emirates Stadium. West Ham Vs Watford is our next featured game. Watford were mighty against Chelsea during the week and with West Ham being nothing but consistently inconsistent this one looks like it could go either way. So then is it goals galore or a win for one of the London sides? You’ll have to listen to find out.
We have an auld natter then about Antonio Conte and why he hasn’t been fired, although Chelsea’s jinx team West Brom are just laying in wait to claim yet another scalp of a Chelsea manager next Monday night. Lionel Messi gets a mention too for two news stories that have been doing the rounds this weekend.
We stick with the Premier League next and speak about Champions-elect Manchester City who are taking on Leicester City at home. Can City put their Burnley bump behind them and while they couldn’t hit the next more than once last week, do the ProTipster Boys think we’ll see goals here on Saturday evening.
