I had a hard time finding a book I wanted to read from the beginning to the end. One day the class went to the library to look for books to read, I was having trouble finding a book because I didn’t know where to start. I eventually just grabbed a book that looked interesting, that book was “The child called it”. I started to read the book and for the first time ever I could picture in my mind what was happening. I loved that book and that lead to me loving to read. I spent so much time in the library that I started to help other people check out books.
Reading became an escape from the stress of teenage life by inviting me into the story. I found that I love all different types of books and praised the author if the book was a part of a series. When I started high school I was overjoyed to see that there was two middle school sized libraries. To my surprise I found most of my favorite books not in the library but in Mrs.Wilson’s collection of books. I found books that made me feel.
Looking back now I can see that my perspective on reading has made a complete U-turn since elementary school. My hatred of reading became something to look forward to. Reading is a magical thing that all people should love doing. I feel bad for the people that haven’t found the right book yet and hope that one day they will.
