Mayor Cruz was worn out from assisting in recovery efforts all day and barely had cell phone service - but had a lot to say about President Donald Trump.  The Mayor also painted a dark picture of the situation in Puerto Rico where people are "drinking from creeks."<br /><br />QUOTES FROM THE INTERVIEW:<br /><br />Regarding President Trump's insinuation that local government officials aren't doing enough in the Puerto Rican recovery effort San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz says:<br /><br />"I really take it with a smile and went on [with] my day the way I would have done either way, I do take exception that is a good news story... this is a life or death story."<br /><br />"And I do take exception the notion that we need to consider the debt that needs to be paid.  In situations of life or death you don't start thinking about the BILL you start thinking about what you need to do in order to save lives."<br /><br />On the prospect of meeting President Trump when he visits the island:<br /><br />"I haven't been invited and I wouldn't have been expected to be invited... If he says that he wants to meet, I will go to see him and I will afford him the respect that the leader of a free nation deserves.
