I became stressed and a bit depressed with life. All this happened because of particular events where people close to me were ultimately diagnosed with an illness, and another family member died and ceased to exist in my life. These people were family members that I cared for. When you think about it, life can turn around in such a surprising way when someone in your life is not there. Being a teenager, unexperienced and with much learning to do. As teenagers we tend to drift apart, some need more edification and advice than others. But we have to learn to stand up and change our path, we must take the opportunities given to us and take advantage, we must grasp that so that in the future we can have something to be proud of, have success in our lives. Life as we know it is short, full of holes, and traps that thwart our success, but we must first stumble upon these in order to ameliorate and learn. Learn to do things differently, with experience, and a lot of thought. One of my most favorite quotes being... “When you find your path, you must not be afraid. You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes. Disappointment, defeat, and despair are the tools God uses to show us the way.” ― Paulo Coelho, Brida. Coelho being a lyricist and novelist. He is the recipient of numerous international awards, a very exemplar individual whose quote connects to my situation and to others. Back then, my uncle named Sergio was battling against heart complications that made him suffer through the last few years. Despite his condition, my uncle wanted to move on. He didn’t let this obstacle impede him from making the most of the life he had left. He worked responsibly, helped the family out, and was always cheerful among others. In contempt of his far away distance, he never stopped from keeping in touch with my family. Although I didn’t get the opportunity to travel and spend more time getting to know him. I knew he cared for me and wanted to know me better, as I admired him and wanted to get to know him better as well. Now with his absence I felt an empty void in my life. With the tragic news of his death I became shocked, I did not realize what had happened. School advanced classes were becoming harder during the last few months of school, they started weighing me down as well as in other regular classes, until then I did not try in school because of depression, school work overwhelmed me, all I could think was I want to start from scratch, let this failure erase itself. I will change. At that moment I felt I could not change anything so I let that idea consume me, which I regretted, I tried pulling myself together, but ultimately failed many times. Now as I begin this school year I want to redeem myself. I had let many people down, parents, teachers, and ultimately myself. Mistakes are made because we are human, but we learn from all these mistakes, we gather what we’ve learned so we do not commit another mistake or even the same mistake again. making us wiser and stronger beings.
