Joining me this week is Sydney premiership player, Alex Johnson.<br />Alex has undergone five separate knee reconstructions so it’s great to talk through his incredible journey in Football already and he is still only 25 years old. We talk about:<br /><br />Alex’s early days prior to being drafted.<br />The culture he walked in to at Sydney and the main figures at the club that drive that culture.<br />The reaction and feeling behind each time he did his knee and why they opted for LARs surgery a few times.<br />What range of emotions you experience for yourself and your teammates during such a long stint out of the game.<br />What lessons we both learnt from going through serious injuries prior to having another serious injury.<br />The lucky aspect of being in a work environment that allows you to get injured and travel while still being paid.<br />His relationship with Daniel Menzel who has gone through a very similar path in the AFL.<br />His return to footy this year and the overwhelming amount of people that attended the game.<br />His chances of making the team this year given their potential finals berth.<br /><br />With 1736 days between games at one point and 900 plus days without being able to run during the recovery it really is an incredible footy story about a players whose best is yet to come.
