We start off living life experiencing and so believing that what we are - the Subject in life - stems from and therefore is the body. This misconception of what we are is the reason why suffering arises.

When the ingrained beliefs which maintain this illusion are weakened by the flow of life itself there comes a point of spontanous realization of the formless nature of self - that is the moment of awakening. But here the process is not complete.

Once that realization has stabalised and settled in, life invites, brings about another seeing and intergration, that is that life is not lived as consciousness but as a human being, a person - consciousness linked to and functioning through a particular body.

From that new perspective comes a time where we can call ourself by our name again without overlooking the previous - and necessary - realization that I am Consciousness. It can indeed be seen that life is lived as Roger, in this case, knowing that what Roger is in "essence" Consciousness, and that's what is living Roger.
