6 OCT 2026 · A preserved WMRN-AM 1490 weather-coverage promotional announcement likely dating to the 1990s, using vivid weather imagery to reinforce the station’s local forecast and information services.
Weather information was a routine but essential part of WMRN’s daily programming. For generations of listeners, local radio provided an immediate source for forecasts, changing conditions, school closings, travel information, and severe-weather updates throughout Marion County and north-central Ohio.
Promos like this turned that practical service into recognizable station imaging. Through concise copy, production elements, and repeated branding, they reminded listeners where to tune when weather became part of the day’s story.

After Beard’s introduction, Suarez returns to the program and discusses Senior Citizens Day at the fair, including free admission for visitors age 65 and older. The exchange captures the loose, personality-driven style that often characterized live local radio remotes and special-event broadcasts.
