We've all seen it: an elderly person struggling at an airport while younger people scroll past on their phones.

It feels wrong.

But does that mean we should automatically respect and listen to every older person simply because they've stacked up more years?

In this episode, I break down the massive confusion between basic human decency and earned wisdom—and why mixing them up is hurting our relationships and our growth.

I address a recent conversation I heard and clarify the two completely different categories of respect that keep getting tangled.

On one hand, we have a duty to be kind, hold doors, and offer our seats to those who need it. That's non-negotiable.

On the other hand, the idea that chronological age automatically makes someone wise is one of the most dangerous assumptions we make.

If you aren't growing, learning, or challenging your own mind, I don't care if you're 25 or 85—I'm not listening.

· Why "respect your elders" is an incomplete sentence and what's missing

· The difference between being childlike (good) and being childish (bad)

· How to determine whose advice is actually worth taking—regardless of age

· Why the "pack animal" mentality keeps most people stuck following the herd

· The one filter you must use before letting anyone's words into your life

If you're tired of performative respect and ready to build a life based on genuine growth and discernment, this episode is for you.

Press play and let's get clear on what respect actually means.
