· Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is a chronic, neuro-muscular disease that causes serious weakness of the voluntary muscles

· MG can impact a person’s ability to see, walk, smile, breath, and swallow

· MG has no known cause or cure and is often called the snowflake disease because it manifests so differently in each person

· MG is relatively rare (impacting approximately 30 out of 100,000 people) and is many times difficult to diagnose

. MGA was founded in 1955 with a mission to support the medical, social and emotional needs of people with MG though education, outreach and advocacy

· MGA serves people from 26 counties in PA, parts of New York, Ohio, West Virginia, and Maryland
